Baby Products Reviews of Dr. Brown's 4 oz Natural Flow Baby Bottle, 3 PackCustomer Review: Do you believe in Miracles? Summary: 5 Stars
My son is 9 weeks old and has been a "difficult baby" since he was 5 weeks old. Initially they changed his formula to Alimentum which worked pretty good (Dr. tests confirmed milk protein allergy). He then was diagnosed with Reflux and put on Zantac. Still, his gas was unbearable and he'd scream in pain sometimes hours at a time. Finally I switched from Johnson Healthflow bottles which I used with my daughter to Dr. Browns. I can't believe the diffrence! The first bottle I gave him he spit up a lot and then cried after and I though "oh no this isn't working!" After he spit up I gave him a warm bath and used a thermometer rectally to stimulate the rest of the trapped gas which was probably there all day. After that, the next bottles were all PERFECT! He drank them with ease and not one air bubble was in the milk and the nipple never collapsed. I was AMAZED. He still has gas, but passes it easier and doesn't scream in pain. This bottle DOES NOT LEAK. It's amazing. Go buy it now! For approx. 5 dollars a bottle (less if purchased in a 3 pack) that is a small price to pay for a happy baby who isn't screaming all day or night. Just 5 dollars!
Customer Review: stopped gas, pain, and spit-up in my baby Summary: 5 Stars
These bottles saved our lives. For three months our newborn screamed in pain with gas every night and spit-up after every meal. He was diagnosed with reflux and given Zantac which helped a bit but he still had a lot of pain and also couldn't eat enough in one go to sleep more than 2-3 hours at a time. We were exhausted and suffering because he was suffering. Then, a friend told me that her son and daughter-in-law had the same problem with their newborn and it was that they were using the Avent bottles and the baby was taking in lots of gas...they switched to Dr. Brown's and within one day the baby was 100% better and sleeping twice as long. So we though what the heck....overnight our lives changed dramatically. While our son still has the ocassional spit-up they are about 80% reduced and the first night on these bottles he slept 5 hours. Most importantly he no longer screams in pain. I LOVE these bottles. If your baby has gas pain or reflux PLEASE try them. The best thing in the world is that we no longer have to see our little one suffer for hours on end. Honestly, if I could I would personally buy them for every new mother with a baby that has gas problems.
Customer Review: THESE ARE DEFINITELY THE ABSOLUTE BEST BOTTLES Summary: 5 Stars
I have a 2 month old baby (born 9-3-04) thats gets awful colics. the first week home was awful. we tried everything. tea, different formula, sleeping upright etc. after about the 4th day home i remembered my girlfriend had given me a dr browns bottle for my shower that i had still in its box in my babys closet. i got it out and the difference (along with a new formula similac alumentum)was immediate. i returned all my bottles the very next day & have been using dr browns ever since. they need a little more cleaning espicially when using cereal along with the special "Y" shaped nipples for cereal feedings but its well worth it. they have them in the wide necks also. its just a matter of personal like, yours or your babys. the bottle is the same regardless & the truth is its a wonderful product. it makes for a total bubble free feeding which means no air in the babys belly...just formula. i highy reccomend you dont even bother with any other bottle. they are not pretty, they dont have characters, they dont come in different colors but once you use one you will never use another bottle. this is one of my absolute favorite gifts & definitely one i cannot do with out.
Customer Review: This bottle is magic for breast fed babies! Summary: 5 Stars
I have a 7 week old baby exclusively breast fed, and I am about to return to work part time. I fed my older child (aged 2 years now) breast milk for 10 months, and the Playtex system worked for her. I have been desperate to find a bottle system for my newborn to take my breast milk, and have tried Playtex, Evenflo, and Avent- all with no success. He literally SCREAMS for a solid hour as my poor mother and husband have tried once a day, day after day for a solid week to get him to take a bottle. I was really starting to get worried after talking to my lactation consultant, and the only additional advice she had to offer was for me to leave the house, and wear my mom's shirt while nursing him. Nothing was working. Well, after reading all the reviews for Dr. Brown's bottles, I decided to try ONE more system. He had been screaming for 30 minutes when I returned from a quick trip to the store to buy these, and the MINUTE I got the bottle washed and the bottle entered his mouth, he started nursing ferociously, and took 4 ounces - 100% success!!! We all said a thankful prayer, and I will spend the rest of his life telling EVERYONE about this wonderful product!
Customer Review: Do what they say they are supposed to do Summary: 4 Stars
I bought these before my now 9 week old baby was born b/c I was terrified of having a baby with colic and gas. I have used these from the day we brought him home from the hospital, I pump breast milk into them. He took to the bottles right away and I've never had a problem with nipple confusion (I breast feed during the day and bottle feed at night). I always get several burps out of him and I have NEVER had a problem with gas or colic. He does spit up a bit, but after doing research I found that you have to keep them elevated for 20 minutes after they eat or they will just spit up no matter what, as their gastric muscles aren't fully developed yet. The only complaint I have about these bottles is they leak around the caps. I don't know if all bottles do that, as this is my 1st child and the only bottles I've used, but when I feed him the bottle drips from under the nipple cap/ring and I usually have milk all over the place. I guess the seal isn't tight enough. It's a big enough problem that I'm considering changing bottles but I'm too nervous that the guarantee to reduce colic and gas is working and if I change bottles I'll have problems!
