Baby Products Reviews of Dr. Brown's 4 oz Natural Flow Baby Bottle, 3 PackCustomer Review: Zero bubbles! Summary: 5 Stars
This is truely an excellent product. I had to write to agree with what everyone else is saying.
Our baby simply do not swallow any bubbles no matter how we hold the bottle. We would not feed from bottles unless it's got the Dr. Brown insert in it.
The way it works is that there's this this vent tube inside the bottle which lets air escape from the nipple. What you get is that the entire nipple area is filled with milk/formula, no matter how fast your baby drinks. Baby can not suck air from inside the nipple. Period.
Baby can still suck in air from outside the nipple, but that can be fixed if you get a wide mouth nipple that forces the baby to close her lips around it. End result is baby won't have any gas problems.
The vent tube can be used in other bottles so you can have more options.
The vent tube is something extra that needs to be washed, but that's just a minor inconvenience.
The nipples that comes with these bottles are not the ones we want to use, but who cares, we just toss them and put in a different nipple of our chosing.
I got the 4 oz bottle now, I'm definitely planning to get the 8 oz versions when the baby's a bit bigger.
Customer Review: Awesome Product Summary: 5 Stars
My wife and I registered and purchaed many items from reading reviews. We did not however read the reviews about bottles because our sister-in-law gave us tons of Avent bottles. We spent some money and purchased new nipples. After about three weeks our baby was miserable, and so were we. Feeding was taking 45 minutes, and then another hour to burp her and keep her upright to prevent spitting up. Her bib was constantly drenched. Something had to be done. We switched to the thin 4oz Dr. Brown's bottles, and we are all happy campers. Feeding last about 15-20 minutes. She burps so much easier, and sometimes doesn't because there is no air. We use the same bib for three to four feedings because it is always dry. There is no spit up, no hickups, and she is sleeping much better. Some people have complained about the price and the cleaning. Firstly, all the bottles are in the same price range. Secondly, about the cleaning. Well there are more parts and it takes a little longer to clean these bottles. It only takes me about 10 minutes to wash all the bottles from that day. We are however all getting more sleep from using these bottles, and our baby is so much happier. What can we say, we are very satisfied.
Customer Review: LOVE THEM!! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought these bottles on a lark. I had read good things about them, but when I went to buy them at my Babies R Us, the only ones I could buy were the wide mouthed bottles. These bottles have a wider nipple that is shaped more like the breast. My son is primarily breast fed, but he has had no problems with these bottles when I don't feed him myself. I started giving him a few ounces of water at 2 weeks old, and he immediately took to these bottles. At one month, I tried to give him a six ounce Platex VentAir bottle after my Babies R Us was out of the larger Dr. Browns bottles. He refused to take to the smaller nipple. I suggest that you do use the wide mouth Dr. Browns bottles, but they are not available online.I have not had a problem cleaning them at all. The only problem I have had comes when I do give him formula. The instructions say not to shake it in the bottle, so I usually stir it instead. One reviewer mentioned that when you add water, you go over the "Do not fill above this line" mark. I avoid this by measuring my water in a separate bottle, then I add about half the water, stir, then the other half. That has eliminated any problem regarding that mark. I strongly recommend this product!
Customer Review: Miracle Bottles!! No leaks, no gas, no spit up!! Summary: 5 Stars
THESE WORK!!! I have seen reviews saying these bottles leak alot. They have never leaked for us EVER! If you read the pamphlet that comes with the bottles it states a few logical ideas for Dr Browns bottles. 1)..... Dont shake the formula in the bottles that causes air bubbles to be inside the formula causing baby to ingest. (I have found if I make baby 3 bottles in the morning shaking them and letting all the bottles settle by the time I get them from the fridge later the buubles have all dissappeared. 2)....Do not fill past the line on the bottle. the vent and resevoir wont be able to work properly if you overfill. 3).......If you do microwave bottle remove the nipple collar and the resevoir to release the gases that build up during microwaving and dont OVERHEAT should be 98.6. If you follow all 3 rules your baby will be Happy. Our baby went from constipated, spitting up tons and crying after feedings, to happy no more constipation or spitting up. The no more crying alone after feedings is great. My baby(6 months)would cry for hours after feedings and spitting about 2-3 times each time I fed him. I was amazed in as little as a few days use of Dr Browns he is a completly different Happy Baby. Thanks Dr Brown!!
Customer Review: Best Bottles You Can Get Summary: 5 Stars
These bottles are a Godsend! I have an 8 week old, and he has only spit up about 5 or 6 times since he was born. Even then, it was because he had drank too much formula (more than usual), and I didn't get him to burp before laying him down. I have three other children, with the younger being 9, and they didn't have these then. I can definately see the difference. No spitting up alot, less gas, less burping, and your baby will be easier to burp.
For those of you complaining about the time it takes to wash and assemble while the baby crys. Why don't you prepare a days worth of formula and bottles? I prepare my formula every night, fill the bottles, and refrigerate them. Then when my little one is hungry, I get one out of the fridge, and put in the bottle warmer. I do it at night to make sure I have plenty for night time feedings. Then, when your down to maybe one bottle, soak all your bottles and parts in hot sudsy water, clean, and fill them all back up again. Surely no one is so lazy that they can't wash and prepare bottles once a day? It's worth it to me, because I have a happier baby, and because of that I'm happier too. You can get a whole lot more sleep at night if baby's tummy isn't hurting.
