Customer Review: Do you really need this?
Summary: 3 Stars

The best advice I received while I was pregnant was NOT to register for bottles, because the baby chooses the bottle not you. So, I took that advice. I went to a baby faire and received several diffrent types of bottles. The Playtex nurser was too hard for my daughter to suck, the gerber new tradtions flowed too strong. The Dr. browns seemed great. Although there is a lot of work involved in cleaning them. So when I moved up to the larger bottles, I did not hesitate to purchase several of the Dr. Browns. The problem is they leak when heated. (No matter what method you use) When I called the compnay (handi craft) I was told to remove the nipple when heating. That SOUNDS easy enough, but when you are waking up 3 times a night and you are trying to calm a screeming 1 month old the LAST thing you want to do is fuss with a bottle. If your baby has colic, or gas problems, buy ONE bottle & try it. It is worth the work if your baby feels better (Because you know if baby feels good....so do you)

Customer Review: I've tried the rest and these are truly the best!

As a new mom to a happy spitter, I had to experiment with several different brands of bottles. I used the Ventaire first and decided to switch since the slow flow nipple seemed to upset my baby at 3 months and the fast one was just too fast. The Playtex disposable was next and again, there were only two nipple sizes and neither one worked. The spit up continued. I was hoping they would work since I would not need to sterilize the bottles, but my baby needed to eat. I then tried the Advent ones and she still seemed to spit up too much using these even though the nipple flow seemed okay at first. Last, I tried the the Dr. Brown bottles and I had finally found the perfect match! My baby happily sucks on the bottle and doesn't spit up volumes as with the other bottles. She seems quite content after feedings which makes me content. After this long search, I would recommend that you bypass the other bottles and buy this brand. However, babies are different so you may need to do your own search.

Customer Review: I'll never buy another brand!

My son was born premature. I breastfed for as long as I could but after he was diagnosed with severe acid reflux. I needed to find a bottle. He needed cereal in every bottle to thicken it, along with medications for pain and to help move it along his digestive track. First I tried the playtex bottles with disposable liners. The amount of gas and spit up was still quite a lot and I still had a unhappy baby. Then my doctor told me about Dr. Brown's bottles. They are a bit more expensive then others but WORTH EVERY DIME!!!! The clean up is fine too if you just throw all the pieces together in a nipple basket in the dishwasher. I will never use another bottle with my future children ever again. I am so happy I found these. My son was like a different baby from the FIRST time he used these bottles. The gas was GONE, the spit-up was decreased by well over half the previous amount. I tell every mother and soon-to-be mother I run into about Dr. Brown's bottles. I'll never buy another brand!

Customer Review: After trying them all, these worked the best....

Before I delivered my son, I knew that I would be bottle feeding due to previous issues. I decided to purchase the Playtex angled bottles. Once my son was born, I realized that was a mistake. He was getting way too much air in the nipple, therefore, he was having alot of painful gas. When he was just 5 days old, I decided we needed something else. I went out and purchased the Ventair by Playtex, hoping that would help. The Ventair did not make any difference! So as a last resort, I went BACK to the store and purchased several different types. One of them was the Dr. Brown's. After just one feeding I knew that I didn't even need to try the others! My son did not get even one air bubble in the nipple! While I do agree with the other reviews, there are a few extra pieces to wash, I am more than willing to wash them if my son can be more comfortable after his meal. And quite honestly, it only takes a few extra moments. They are worth the money and time because "THEY WORK"!

Customer Review: Thank You, Thank You, Dr. Brown!

As a first time mom I had formulated my plan to breastfeed my son until he was 1 year old. Unfortunatly, my son had other plans. When we had to turn to the bottle, I first tried AVENT because I had heard so many wonderful things about them. WRONG! The nipples were too big and caused my son to take in a ton of air. He was gassy and had terrible stomach pains. I saw the Dr. Brown's bottles and thought I would give them a try. I am so glad I did! The bottles eliminated my son's gassiness altogether.

If you are going to breastfeed and bottlefeed, I would recommend the wide-mouthed bottles. The baby is forced to open his mouth wide just like breastfeeding. It helps with switching back and forth from bottle to breast with no nipple confusion. If bottle feeding only, I would suggest the regular bottles. The nipples are smaller and allow the baby to get their mouth around it easier. These were such a life saver for me at a time when I thought I was going to lose my mind!
