These bottles are great! I have to burp our son Aidan more often when I breast feed than when I use Dr. Brown's bottles.
I had a problem with other bottles [Avent] in that they would leak all over Aidan's chin and clothes whenever we would use them. It was a mess and so frustrating. Not a problem anymore! I also tried Second Nature bottles. YEKS! It took Aidan over an hour to get 1/2 an ounce out of the bottle. This is when he could normally finish a 4 ounce bottle in 25 to 30 minutes. This did not make for a happy camper!
It was so nice to try a bottle and not be frustrated. It was refreshing to see the bottle actually did what it said it would. Imagine that!
I do get many comments on the bottles when people see them for the first time. I explain the set up and feel like an infomercial at times.
The cleaning of the bottles I thought would be an issue - not at all. I have a dishwasher and still hand wash the bottles. The cleaning brush that is included works very well - it also works great to clean the nipple. It is very easy to clean the bottles and it does not take a lot of time.
I am also telling my pregnant friends about these bottles and the success we have had.

I admit, I was extremly skeptical... my mother actually bought these for me b/c my preemie son was in pain all of the time from gas and the only thing that slightly helped was the Playtex Nursers, and he was still in pain a lot of times. We tried everything to help him. Then she brought me these.. and he has not had a problem since... My son is a happy baby again!!!! I am so happy with these. I read on here that cleaning them is a pain.. but that is just not so. I hand clean bottles anyways and it is so simple to clean these bottles, I can't believe that ppl are so lazy as to complain about a couple extra seconds to run a brush in 3 holes. Gimmie a break. I also clean a bunch of parts for my pump, so I just do it all at once. OH!!! And these bottles fit on my Medela pump, so I can just pump right in the bottle!!!! And we havent had any leaks, btw... these things are GREAT. Oh, and they also make a widemouth version that you can get at Babies R Us... just in case you prefer them. I wish I had gotten these earlier.. my son is 7 weeks (he was born at 32 weeks, btw) and he is a different baby with these bottles.OH!! And if you would rather, the bottles and all parts fit in the munchikin dishwasher basket.. even the sraws can be put in the straw things on the side of it!!! just discovered that...Customer Review: Great Product! Highly recommend for new and not so new Moms!

These bottle are wonderful! I was originally using Avent wide bottles with my oldest son and found them to be a real pain when I needed them to be reliable. They leaked often (inconveniently in the middle of the night with a very hungry and unhappy baby) and were more of a hassle then I had expected. I switched to the Dr. Brown's bottles on a whim when I was shopping for replacements for the Avent bottles. Luck and little bit of research led me to Dr. Brown's. I was hesitant at first because of the extra maintenance required but once I started using them and realized how happier my little man was, I didn't look back. Being a new Mommy, I didn't realize how much air he was taking in when eating until we switched bottles and he was so much more content after eating. With my second son, I decided to try the Avent bottles again just because I have so many of them and soon realized I was wasting my time. Dr. Brown's is the bottle of choice for our house. They work for low maintenance babies and those who require a little more attention.
One recommendation:
Don't buy the 4 oz. bottles. Because these bottles are a little more expensive than the others available, it would be a better investment to buy the 8 oz. bottles and only fill them with as much as you need.

There is no better bottle on the market in my opinion. Everyone that I know, who uses the Dr. Brown bottles are hooked. My 4-month old was very gassy during his first 2months. I tried numerous brands of bottles, but nothing was helping. I began to read some reviews on the babysrus.com website about other bottles and quite a few people were speaking very highly about the Dr. Browns bottle. I decided to try them and in a matter of days, the gas in my son subsided. The makers of Dr. Brown should pay me a fee, (even though I am not a spokes person for them), due to I have convinced 4 or 5 mothers to switch to this product and every time I am in Baby's R Us, I am constantly talking about them. I have 3 friends that are pregnant and I refuse to purchase them anything else... no matter what is on their registry. They have additional apparatus to wash, however when you have a happy baby, because of the Dr. Browns bottle, I don't care how many pieces come with them or how much they cost, I am purchasing the Dr. Browns bottle. They work. Even if my child did not have gas, I would still purchase the bottles. My son, after a feeding, practically burps on his own. I am definitely sticking with Dr. Brown with this child and hopefully the one in the future.

I had been using Avent bottles since birth for my 5 month old. He was diagnosed with reflux when he was 3.5 months old. Prescription meds seemed to work short term, but around 4.5 months, he was spitting up even more at a time, even with medicine. He was spitting up a lot, even two or three hours after feeding. I read the label of the Dr. Brown bottle in store, and decided it was worth a try. It is amazing how wonderfully it works! Just after one feeding, I could tell the difference! He hardly spits up at all anymore, and he is able to eat more at each feeding. My advice to new or soon-to-be parents is to have one of these on hand in case your baby starts to spit up a lot or has a lot of gas. Cleaning these bottles is more work than normal, and if your baby does fine with other less-complicated bottles, it isn't worth it to use Dr. Brown all of the time. However, it is the best bottle to use if your baby has problems with feeding. It has really made my baby a happier baby, and has reduced my frustration. When I take him back to the Pediatrician for his next physical, I will be sure to praise Dr. Brown bottles, so that he will recommend them to other parents. I hope that I can spare other babies and parents the pain and frustration of reflux.
