Customer Review: Great Bottles!
Summary: 5 Stars

I started out breatfeeding my newborn and never thought of even needing bottles, but the first night when my milk wasn't there, we needed a bottle. We had received some Avent as gifts so we used those which were OK but we had to burb about every 1/2 oz, so after reading a lot of the reviews we switched to Dr. Browns and had much better luck. We now burp him about 2 times for a 6oz feed (he's 3 mos now). The #1 nipples worked great with a newborn with less "mouth mess" than the Avents.
We started on the 4 oz but now e eats more than that and we use the 8oz wide bottles (easier to heat in most bottle warmers). We haven't had the need to replace any parts including the nipples which we will be replacing soon only to move up to a #2 size.
They do leak if you heat a sealed bottle the pressure will cause the milk to rise up in the tube--to fix this just slightly unscrew the bottle before heating and then tighten before feeding. And they wash fine in the dishwasher (you can sanitize them afterwards if your diswasher doesn't get hot enough)-and they are relatively easy to clean by hand unless you are using breastmilk--the fat does tend to stick to the small parts making them harder to clean unless they are rinsed immediately (again the dishwasher solves this problem).
I really love them and will use them again with our second child.

Customer Review: These bottles are great!
Summary: 4 Stars

My son was born at 31 weeks, and had ALL the preemie feeding problems - terrible reflux, colic, gas, spitting up, projectile vomiting, choking, gagging and sometimes just plain refusing to eat! When he was still in the hospital they put him on rice cereal with his formula - to thicken it - and prevent him from choking and to help with the reflux. We had been using those special Sassy feeders for the past few months - but after time, the pieces don't fit right together anymore, and if you try reducing the amount of rice cereal to make the formula thinner, it just leaks everywhere. I tried SO many different bottles and none of them helped! After spending a FORTUNE on bottles and special cross cut nipples for the rice cereal I tried Dr. Brown's. I really think they are great! They don't leak for me, there's no stupid bag to try and squeeze the air out of, and there aren't any air bubbles! After working with the Sassy bottle, I don't think that there are added parts to wash, and even then - it's worth it! From the first time we used them, my son liked the nipple, and with the cross cut (Y) could get some out and could actually eat without screaming from gas pain! We don't even use the gas drops anymore! I would recommend these bottles to anyone who's had trouble finding a bottle that works for them and their baby!! They are great!!

Customer Review: Best out there-BETTER THAN AVENT
Summary: 5 Stars

I LOVE these bottles. My daughter has reflux, colic, gas troubles, spitting up, you name it and she has it. I was told that Avent was the best and had read about them so I decided that was the bottle for us. I SPENT $200 ON THE ENTIRE AVENT SYSTEM. After 3 horrible months using those bottles I decided I had enough of them and I would find something else, no matter what the cost! I tried EVERY brand out there from the cheapest to the most expensive and this one always came out well ahead of the rest. They fit her mouth perfectly, the nipple is soft enough for her and she will actually finally EAT! With Avent she could not get a good enough latch and I was going through 2-3 bibs per feeding plus having to change her! She no longer has gas pains (and I don't have to give her gas drops), or scrunches up in pain from the colic and swallowing air, and I barely have to use 1 bib per feeding! I can't believe we ever made it for 3 months without these bottles. She does still spit up a little bit but that is normal for all babies. I tell everyone I know about our experience with them. I LOVE THESE BOTTLES, even with the extra hassle to clean them. It's a lot less heartbreaking and time consuming to clean a little extra than to spend hours consoling a screaming baby in pain. THANK YOU DR. BROWN, I don't know how you did it but THANK YOU.

Customer Review: WOW!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

these bottles are GREAT! DD had terrible belly aches and the day after we switched her to these bottles she was 100% better...

good things about the bottles:
-can use in microwave
-all parts are dishwasher safe
-less air in the belly's
-variety of nipples
-variety of bottle shapes and sizes(wide neck-4-8oz etc...)

bad things about bottles
-i always lose the travel caps (they stop the bottle from leakin)
-its a pain to clean each indivdual piece(there are two parts to the vacuum piece) with the little pipe cleaner they give you
-you are not supposed to mix the formula in the bottle bc it can clog the vacuum system
-bottle leaks very LITTLE (like a drop or two)sometimes...its a pain it leaks at all though.....

I was using the playtex nursers and she still got air in her belly, then i tried the Playtex ventair and it helped a tiny little bit more but not nearly as much as DR.Browns bottles...

i really dont have a problem with these bottles at all....as far as im concerned they are a LIFE SAVOR and my daughter means everything in the world to me, I'd clean an infinate amount of vacuum bottles just for her happiness....lol

these bottles are SOOOOOOO worth it.....Everyone get em!!

Customer Review: We love Dr Brown's
Summary: 5 Stars

My son wound up in the hospital at 6 weeks with severe high volume reflux. The gastroenterologist recommended Dr Browns bottles with an X cut nipple ( we needed to add cereal to his formula to weigh it down so it would stay in his stomach ). Prior to switching bottles he would gulp so much air there was little room in his stomach for food and it would come right up, he would also squirm in pain from the air bubbles in his belly. When we switched to Dr Browns I saw immediate results (even before the we started his reflux meds), there is still some spit up but the gas pains are GONE. I wouldn't even try to switch to another brand. As far as cleaning, the very little extra time it may take is so worth the comfort my son has received from using these bottles. But really it takes very little extra time. I put all the pieces in a basket on the top shelf of the dishwasher(I don't even need the little brush they include...) and they go through the dry cycle to sterilze just fine. And the leaking some people have experienced I believe is from overtightening the cuff which is easy to do and will produce immediate leaking but is easy to fix. Don't forget to keep the vent clear for best results. One last note, I prefer the wide mouth bottle, it's great for mixing powder formula or adding cereal...
