Customer Review: a must for any baby with colic
Summary: 5 Stars

when my son went to the bottle and even before than he was soooooo colicky. i mean he literally cried all day and all night. i never slept. i was getting so depressed from not being able to help him and not sleeping. it was a nightmare for both of us. i literally tried every bottle in walmart. i tried every formula from generic to the most expensive alimentum which actually helped a little bit. my mother in law just so happened to give me a pack of these after finding out how much he was hurting and pulling his stomach in all the time and WHAT A MIRACLE!!! it was literally like a wonder bottle. i mean it. i wanted to kiss the man or woman who made these. i was so relieved to finally be able to get some rest and my little one was FINALLY able to drink his milk without crying immediatly afterwards. the thought of me not having to burst into tears every time he ate was worth it. they are expensive, but please please please. they are soooo worth it!!!

Customer Review: Tried it numerous times.....
Summary: 1 Stars

Our daughter has no colicky problems nor any other related bottle problems. However, we originally used Avent bottles but wanted to try something sleeker and compact. After reviewing the minimal selection of thinner bottles at Babies r us, we decided on Dr. Brown's based upon the postive reviews read. Unfortunately, I can't give a positive review as the others have. We gave this product a fair try for two and a half months with no success at all. When it is time for feeding, it is too much work to just warm it up. In order to warm the liquid up without spillage, one must remove the nipple and other parts. When we shake the bottle to dissolve the formula clumps, it leaks and squirts all over. I really would like to continue using the bottles if I was able to solve these issues. But because my daughter doesn't have any bottle issues, it isn't quite neccessary to use complicated bottles. These must be only useful for troubled eaters.....

Customer Review: Calling the Dr.
Summary: 5 Stars

These are GREAT bottles! I have these and some Medela bottles that came with my breast pump. Dr. Browns wins -- no doubt about it! I guess I'm not as meticulous as some other reviewers on cleaning and sterilizing... I just follow the directions in the package and sterlized when I started out and then I've hand washed ever since. Now, let's face it, washing bottles is a pain regardless. Washing a few more parts is no big deal. It takes me approx. 30 seconds more to do the vent parts. And it's definitely worth the effort. The couple of times I've used the Medela bottles I could visibly see bubbles coming through the milk and rising to the top. Later my baby had lots of gas and spit up. With the Dr Browns bottles that NEVER happens. I don't even use the Medelas as backup "emergency" bottles anymore. I only use them to hold water if I'm taking a trip and need to bring some clean water from home to mix formula. The Dr Browns bottles are a godsend!

Customer Review: Best bottles for gas prevention
Summary: 4 Stars

After having tried every bottle brand we could find, we ended up preferring the Dr. Brown's. They definitely reduced the amount of gas our baby was swallowing thus reducing the amount of spit up and burps.

The measurements on the bottles are spot on, thus mixing formula in them is really easy.

The bottles are very durable as are the nipples. They take a beating and still look brand new, including the measurement markings. I'm fairly certain the bottles we have will last until our baby is eating just solid food.

And yeah, the parts are a pain to clean. But we can live with that. It's not a huge, huge deal.

I will say that the Playtex disposables were just as good in terms of gas prevention, but we didn't feel good about throwing away all those plastic containers and the added cost of purchasing them. As well, the measurements on them were wildly inaccurate and thus totally useless.

Customer Review: Good for new moms
Summary: 5 Stars

Most of my friends had kids by the time I got pregnant. One of their kids had problems eating and her doctor told my friend to get Dr. Brown's bottles. So when it came time for me to register for my baby shower, I figured Dr. Brown's bottles were the way to go. I love them. I have had several people say that my son spits up much less than most babies. However, there are a couple extra parts with these bottles that need to be cleaned with a small brush (included). If you're a new mom and you don't know any different, get these bottles and use the best right from the start. But if you've used bottles that only have 3 parts (the bottle itself, the nipple and nipple ring), you're probably not going to like having 2 extra pieces to clean after every feeding. It will take some getting used to, but I think they're worth it. As I said, I think these bottles are the greatest. I wouldn't have done it any differently.
