Baby Products Reviews of Dr. Brown's 3-pack 8-ounce Standard BottlesCustomer Review: ALL MY TWINS USE THEM!! Summary: 5 Stars
I am a mother of two sets of twins. My first set came early and had a small vacation in the NICU. They had been fed through feeding tubes and then the nurses started to us the "nuk" nipple- (no good with any bottle).Once they came home I stopped using them and tried advent, needless to say we had problems. They had colic, spit up and had trouble keeping food in. Well we swithched to Dr. Browns - then they were just coming into the market- my husband was skeptical but they worked! The boys stoped spitting up and had no more gas. They are two and a half now and have never had an ear infection. I believe that is because of the use of the Dr. Browns bottles. We had our second set almost a year ago and from day one Dr. Browns is all we used. They are very happy and health babies. (they too have not had ear infections) I would and have highly recomended these bottles to every one I can. They are a little more work as far as cleaning goes but- well worth the happiness of your babies and sanity of yourself.
Customer Review: I'll never buy another brand! Summary: 5 Stars
My son was born premature. I breastfed for as long as I could but after he was diagnosed with severe acid reflux. I needed to find a bottle. He needed cereal in every bottle to thicken it, along with medications for pain and to help move it along his digestive track. First I tried the playtex bottles with disposable liners. The amount of gas and spit up was still quite a lot and I still had a unhappy baby. Then my doctor told me about Dr. Brown's bottles. They are a bit more expensive then others but WORTH EVERY DIME!!!! The clean up is fine too if you just throw all the pieces together in a nipple basket in the dishwasher. I will never use another bottle with my future children ever again. I am so happy I found these. My son was like a different baby from the FIRST time he used these bottles. The gas was GONE, the spit-up was decreased by well over half the previous amount. I tell every mother and soon-to-be mother I run into about Dr. Brown's bottles. I'll never buy another brand!
Customer Review: I HOPE YOU LIKE MOLD!!!! Summary: 1 Stars
These bottles are horrible!! My son had bad gas so we tried these. They did work great for the gas, but one of the bottles in the 3-pack did not assemble correctly and leaked terribly. They also took FOREVER to clean and assemble.. not fun when you have a hungry infant crying for his food!
Here's the kicker.. I boiled all the parts every day, and cleaned them thoroughly every time with the enclosed brush, but two weeks later I noticed some MOLD growing on all 3 of the beige peices. I cut open one of them and was disgusted to find a layer of brownish green mold coating the inside! No wonder he'd been having screaming episodes and started spitting up!!
I felt like a horrible mother for using these bottles!
If you want to prevent GAS, use Playtex nursers with Drop-in liners. They're SO much more sanitary, easy to clean, portable, CHEAPER, and prevent gas better than those bottles ever did for my son.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!
Customer Review: Should have bought these first!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I started out with the Gerber bottles. However, my daughter has acid reflux. She was spitting up and/or projectile vomiting after every burb. Her collick was horrible. After many suggestions, we bought the Dr. Brown bottles. She has gone from spitting up over 15 times a day to once or twice and the amount is a lot less. THEY REALLY WORK!!
As for the cleaning. I do not find that it is too much more difficult. I have been using the bottles for over a month. I do prefer the evenflo bottle brush and gerber nipple brush for cleaning. It does not take all that long to clean. It is worth the extra time if I do not have to clean up the spit ups. I have never experienced mold. I find that the if you use the small brush included to clean the holes in the stopper then use a nipple brush to get the rest of the piece, you will never have mold.
I would buy these again in a heartbeat! I plan to give them as baby shower gifts from now on.
Customer Review: "The Ear Infections STOP!....here!" Summary: 5 Stars
At 8 weeks old, my son began to show signs of reflux, we took him to lab after lab getting tested but nothing was ever conclusive. But he constantly threw up after feedings. His doctor recommended that I try to find some bottles on the web that suited my son's needs. One day, got a flyer from Babies R us, that had the Dr. Brown starter pack on sale. I figured why not try it! Boy am I glad I did!...the vomitting decreased to less than once a week! Instead of solving one problem, I found these bottles solved a MULTITUDE of common problems, he's never had colic, he's never had gas, and my son is now 18months old and I can proudly say, he has NEVER suffered an ear infection NOT EVEN ONCE!!!!! My cousin's son was 9 mos. old, and was always being treated for ear infections, I told her to try Dr. Browns, her son is now 20 mos. and has not suffered an ear infection since! These bottles don't get proper advertisement! They should be on Billboards!!!
