Baby Products Reviews of Dr. Brown's 3 Pack BPA Free Polypropylene Bottle, 8 oz

Customer Review: tried many bottles, this helps with NOT swallowing air.
Summary: 5 Stars

my husband and i tried a few bpa-free bottles: gerber nuk, avent (omg the price!), playtex ventaire, etc. Dr. Brown's really helped with not swallowing air. one thing I do recommend is if you were to buy many of the dr. brown's, to buy all the same type, i.e. purchase all bpa-free ones, or all bpa & pthalate free ones. I recommend only doing the 8oz bottles. My husband and I noticed though the straws and collars/various pieces were "the same", it seemed the tolerances between the pieces (even between the 4oz and 8oz bottles) would occasionally cause it to slightly leak or not vent air properly. It's hard not to mix and match when washing when the pieces look the same. we still recommend these bottles to friends and love them as they do work and the little one is happier.

Customer Review: sucks
Summary: 1 Stars

These bottles leak badly no matter what I do!! They started leaking about 6 weeks after I bought them. They leak from the rim. I searched the net for a solution to this problem, tried experimenting with the bottles etc but nothing works. Do not buy these bottles if you hate leaky bottles like I do. I have a hard time producing breast milk and pumping it and it is very hard to see it leak out the side of the bottle. Bottom line don't buy them unless the compANY FIXES THE PROBLEM AS I HAVE REALIZED THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. ON THEIR WEBSITE THEY TELL YOU 3 REASONS WHY THE BOTTLE MAY LEAK BUT THE LEAKAGE FROM MY BOTTLES IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH ANY OF THESE THINGS. THEY NEED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR BOTTLES!!!

Customer Review: Great for babies with colic
Summary: 4 Stars

My daughter is 5 weeks old and has been struggling with colic since she was 2 weeks old. She would cry for hours and her tummy would be so hard from all the gas. We switched to Dr. Brown's bottles 3 days ago and she is a completely different baby. The bottles are definitly worth the price and the extra time it takes to clean. I would rather clean a few more parts then have my baby crying for 12 hrs (yes, she has cried for 12 hrs straight). I have not had any problems with the bottles leaking. They came with a disk you insert for when traveling and it has worked great for us. The only thing I would change is the markings on the bottle. It is very difficult to read even in a well lit room. I will definitly continue using these bottles!

Customer Review: Great bottles!
Summary: 5 Stars

We have been using the Avent bottles with our son for about 3 months. They continuously leaked and he spit up a lot while feeding. We decided to try Dr Brown's and were pleasantly surprised at how well they worked. Yes, there are more parts to clean, but it is really not that difficult and well worth it considering how much better the baby feeds with these. I have already noticed less gas and he does not spit up while eating. I will continue using these from now on. The only issue is that they do not fit well in the Avent sterilizer, but Dr. Brown makes their own sterilizer. It is cheaper than Avent and you get 2 free bottles with it. I wish someone had told me about these bottles before I wasted so much money on Avent.

Customer Review: Solved the leaking problem and my daughter is happy!
Summary: 5 Stars

My pediatrician recommended these bottles when my daughter started experiencing bad gas at 2 months. For the first week, the bottles were great. Then the next 2 feedings, the bottles leaked all over us. I was so disappointed since my daughter's gas was getting better. I inspected the bottle and realized that if the nipple and the piece that holds the nipple are completely dry and snug before filling up, then it reduced the leakage. Now I dry those areas really well, press down on the nipple base when inserting into the top of the bottle, and pull up the nipple to ensure it's tight. No leaks since! My daughter is now a happy 4 month old. I will admit, I've only used Nuk and Born Free, but these bottles are here to stay.
