Baby Products Reviews of Dr. Brown's 3 Pack BPA Free Polypropylene Bottle, 8 oz

Customer Review: Great bottles that are worth every cent!
Summary: 5 Stars

After our son was born we used the inexpensive bottles without all the parts to clean because we were going through so many bottles every day. Our son was a very easy baby, but he was a bit fussy every evening for a few hours no matter what we tried. I thought we would give these bottles a try since people told me that babies who are fussy only in the evenings may have gas. After 24 hours of using these bottles he was never fussy in the evenings again! It was amazing! We immediately went out and bought another dozen of these bottles and we'll never use anything else! Our baby is so happy now. Also, these bottles are not hard to clean. I simply put all of the parts in the dishwasher in a little plastic box for bottle parts (Munchkin brand, $3 at Target) and place the inner chamber of the bottle on the dishwasher 'posts'. I did not buy the Dr. Brown's dishwasher piece for the parts.
Try these bottles - you will not be disappointed!

Customer Review: Bad for Breastfeeding
Summary: 2 Stars

These bottles are fine if you don't plan on continuing breastfeeding. I didn't know this and have been heartbroken that my son barely opens his mouth when latching on and now refuses to breastfeed. He was fine breastfeeding initially with this bottle, but after a while he has forgotten how to latch. I also find it annoying that there are so many pieces to wash. My whole top rack is filled with the Dr. brown bottle parts rack and the parts don't dry because they are plastic so my whole kitchen countertop is filled with Dr. Brown parts. I also have the drying rack but for some reason it is too small for all my pieces. I would have tried the Playtex naturallatch with drop ins (breast-shaped nipple) or the Avent with drop ins because cleaning would be easier. I hear the FirstYear Breastfeeding Bottle is pretty good as well. This bottle is fine if you don't mind cleaning and you don't care about breastfeeding.

Customer Review: untrustworthy
Summary: 1 Stars

I am only giving 1 star because I partially blame myself for not having done my homework fully in the first place and there is no 0 star.
I am still angry and very disappointed that the "Dr." Brown bottles which I used for my child 3 years ago were re-called due to their UNSAFETY due to the amount of BPA they contained in them. How dare you sell something you have not fully tested to be safe for newly born babies. This is unacceptable!!! How dare you threaten people's lives like this!?
How can I ever trust this product/this company/this DOCTOR (???) ever again? NEVER. Next year, we will find out that BPA Free bottles were unsafe as well.
My recommendation is to use "glass" bottles. These were safe 30 years ago and they are safe still. I will NEVER ever use this product again. I regret very much that I did for as long as I did! I so wish there was a review like this when I bought these.

Customer Review: they leak just like avent...
Summary: 3 Stars

they vent air, no vaccum suction, which is good, but then, sometimes they don't work, and they vent formula out the air vent, then out the collar, then down the side of the bottle.
sometimes, the baby sucks, and the milk flows out the collar through the vent, and the baby can't get any milk in, not good.
they leak most of the time, and the nipple flow is way to fast for newborns, even with the no. 1 nipple.
also, you can't travel with water or milk in these in your diaper bag. when they are on the side, water or milk leaks out the air vent.
my purse got soaked in yucky milk because i was not aware of this.
i bought 2 starter sets, now i am going to try mam, or another bottom vent bottle.
cleaning them is not hard, but having them leak is not worth it.
don't bother switching to avent either because those leak like crazy.
fingers crossed for mam.

Customer Review: Far Inferior to Avent bottles
Summary: 1 Stars

I recently purchased these due to the recent BPA scare with baby bottles. I was using the Avent bottles purchased 4 years ago for use with my first child. The instructions state to not shake the bottle but I only use powdered formula and stirring or swishing will not remove all the clumps. When I finally gave in and starting shaking, formula starting shooting out of the bottle. I guess these would be okay for liquid premixed formula but certainly not an option for powdered formula which requires mixing. These are an incredible pain to clean with all the parts and confusing to figure out how to assemble. The nipples are tiny, thin and flimsy. I was quite relieved to see Avent now has BPA free bottles which I was happy to return to using. The Avent system is much simpler by design to clean/use, higher quality product and much more diverse line of products that are all interchangeable.
