Baby Products Reviews of Dr. Brown's 2-pack 7-ounce Standard Feeding System Glass Baby BottlesCustomer Review: Great Bottles Summary: 5 Stars
I was worried when I bought these bottles about the lettering coming off because of previous reviews. I suppose they have improved the bottles because I have been using them for about 6 weeks with no problems. I was them in the dishwasher nearly daily.
I really like the glass because, not only is there no worry of plastic chemicals leaching into the milk, but they really get cleaner. Sometimes there is a residue ont he plastic bottles but never on these. I have really been happy with them.
I am buying more now that I know the lettering does not come off.
Customer Review: Great alternative to plastic bottles, no leaks!! Summary: 4 Stars
I like these bottles, we switched to glass bottles due to BPA concerns. Dr. Brown's bottles are great for me because they fit onto my Medela breast pump, so I can pump directly into these bottles. This is a big time saver, I do not have to wash two bottles for pumping plus another bottle for eating, I can use two Dr. Brown's bottles to pump into. The only thing I dislike is the straw valve, it is plastic and it adds to the amount of dishes to do, but it does keep excess gas out of baby's tummy, so for colicky babies this would be the best bottle out there!
Customer Review: Labeling immediately comes off Summary: 2 Stars
I used the plastic Dr. Brown's bottles for my son a few years ago and I think they are wonderful. I was really excited to see that they had come out with glass bottles in response to the plastic concerns. Almost immediately the labeling on the bottles started flaking off. I haven't even put them in the dishwasher, hand washing only! The labeling should really be etched like the evenflo glass. Don't buy these if you want to know how many ounces you have in the bottle. After 2 weeks worth of use these appear to be 10 years old! Disappointed!
Customer Review: Love the glass, the paint needs work! Summary: 4 Stars
These glass bottles are great - they heat very quickly and evenly - they're also heavy enough to put into a bowl of water without bobbing up. I don't mind being a little more careful with them, so far no breaks - we kept the plastic Dr. Brown's we already had for milk storage and for when they will hold their own bottles. The paint is starting to flake a little after about one month of use, I'm not too happy about this. I bought a paint pen and a glass etching kit at the local craft store to mark the bottles if it gets worse.
Customer Review: Amazon's price is outrageous Summary: 5 Stars
I found these bottles this morning (May 17) on babiesrus.ca website for $16.99 - the same company, the same size, in the same 2-pack. Granted, the website says they are "temporarily unavailable online" but I'm going to the store today to see if I can buy them there. I was in stores yesterday and other brands were selling for $18.99 a 2-pack. Obviously consumers are being gouged with this pricing on Amazon and certain companies are taking advantage of worried parents and I'm very suprised that Amazon is a part of this.
