Dexbaby safe lift universal crib wedge is doctor-approved for providing baby with a safe and comfortable night's sleep. The gentle angle elevates baby's head for easier breathing and better digestion. This helps prevent acid reflux which is the backing up of acids into the esophagus and mouth. I also purchased this exact item from Babies R Us for $16.99 only, so I would not recommend buying it for the $39.99 price. It seems like Amazon sells it for $13.99 only, but is currently out of stock, so if you can, wait for it to come back in stock or go to BRU instead!
Like others have mentioned, my wedge is only one piece, not 2 with a cover and zipper or whatnot. There's nothing else that comes with the one wedge, and it does look exactly like the picture above. My son has only slept on it for a little while, so I can't say for sure if it's doing anything yet, but with his reflux and constant burping/spitting up even up to 1-2 hours after a nap, I don't think any sort of incline can hurt him at this point. I also use rolled up blankets to secure him in place, so he doesn't slide downwards, and it works just great.
The wedge is a really sturdy piece of foam, and it almost matches the firmness of my son's crib mattress too, the Colgate Classica I Foam Crib Mattress, White, which is kind of nice. Overall, no complaints about this wedge. Not 100% sure if it works well yet, but for the price, I'm happy to try it out if it can do anything for my son's sleep.
