We recently purchased this product for our 2 sons, who are now sleeping in "big boy beds". The instructions were overwhelming at first, but the assembly was quite easy once we figured it out. The boys have a platform bed with slats (no boxspring) and this was one of the few (if not only) bed rails that worked. For one of our sons, he has one on each side of the bed and they both fit. When looking for bed rails for our son's first "big boy" bed I was shocked at the number of bed rails that did not work with a platform bed. I was a little reluctant to buys these just due to the price difference however I am so pleased that I did. They fit extremely well and there is no way my son will be able to move them. They are worth the money and although some people were frustrated with the assembly I found it to be very easy!Customer Review: Works well for a twin

I originally purchased this item for use on my daughter's crib that converts to a daybed. I didn't realize that it would cover the entire length of the bed which meant she couldn't get in and out on her own. We are now using it on a twin bed and it works well. My only complaint is that when it is folded down, it doesn't fold flat against the bed. Maybe it does in a mattress that isn't inset in the frame.Customer Review: Great Bed Rail

I had been looking for a bed rail for a captain's bed and found this one with good reviews. I am glad that we bought it; it makes us feel better knowing that our son will not fall out of his bed. It doesn't fold completely flat but that was expected with a captain's bed, we leave it up all the time and our son slides down backward from the end of the bed holding onto the bed rail on to a two step stool.Customer Review: AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID

Unfortantely I purchased this bed rail and I've regretted it completely. The horizontal supports have a square hard edge that can injure a child. The strap used to tighten the rail in place is difficult to tighten. One day my infant child fell down between the rail and the bed. The product is either unsafe for infants or so difficult to use that I can not set it up properly. AVOID AVOID AVOID.
