Altho it's kind of hard to get it tightened down to the mattress, this rail seems to be pretty safe, easy to assemble and has done a great job for two grandkids on two visits. the kids haven't done any rough-housing with it tho, since they're too little, but seems like it could even handle that when the time comes. I'd recommend this for a temporary solution to kids spending the night who are just transitioning from crib to youth bed. It's kind of hard to change the sheets tho and so I'd look for something different if I had to deal with it too often. but definitely worth my money for the purposes I had. We bought this rail for our king size bed so our 18 month old son could sleep on the side without us worrying. We had him sleeping between us, but were missing being able to cuddle before falling asleep.
It's perfect! It was easy and quick to install. I have no safety concerns whatsoever. We have a tall mattress and a regular box spring. The rail is high enough for our mattress. But when folded down, it BARELY lies flat against the bed, sliding across the floor as you push it down. There's really no way around this though, since we need the extra height of this bed rail for our thick mattress.

I am happy with this product. It is very sturdy and easy to install. My 2 year old was ready to move to a bigger bed. We used this on a twin size bed/mattress, so it does not cover the entire length of the twin bed, but it still works very well to prevent her from falling out. We actually appreciate the space at the end because she can crawl into and out of her bed easily, and she likes the big bed much better now. I think that she feels much safer. It is made of metal, mesh, and material which completely covers the metal. So we just put a pillow against it at night to pad it, and she loves it!Customer Review: Wonderful...SO SECURE

Wonderful product.
I did screw up the instructions as they are a little bit tricky - but don't let that discourage you. It still only took 5 min to put together, and I did it without assistance.
You will need help putting it on the bed, as that is more complicated, but it's worth it for the security. This thing is NOT budging once it's in place, and I love the security that provides me at night (and naptime)!
It also folds completely down so you can do sheets, etc.
I love it. Glad I went with this one. Would def. buy it again!

I am very pleased with this bedrail. The length and height are great for my son's full bed. My son is strong for a two year old and he has pushed it with his legs and body and it stayed in place. I feel very safe with this on his bed.
The only thing I will say to the consumers who want to put it fully in the down position ----- measure the height of your child's bed from floor to mattress to see if this is possible. My son's bed is not tall enough to do this. But I wanted to and do keep it up all the time, only place it down for a minute to change sheets.
