Baby Products Reviews of Delta Children's Products Vintage Chic Jenny Lind Changing Table in OakCustomer Review: Very sturdy piece of furniture! Summary: 5 Stars
This changing table is one of the sturdiest pieces of furniture that I own! Although it was only used as a changing table for my first child, it is still fully assembled and is being put to good use. I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old, and pregnant with child number 3. The only reason why we did not use this changing table with child number 2 and are not using it with number 3 is because, the changing table is holding all of my bath towels, and spare blankets. When we moved into our new house, we had no linen closet so we decided to put the changing table in our closet and use it to store everything that the missing closet would have. My 2 year old likes to "hide" on the second shelf, and I have "caught" both children climbing it all the way to the top shelf. While I do not like it when they do that, I have to say that I have never had to worry about the table falling apart with their added weight. The screws have never had to be tightened, and it does not wobble. I would say that if you are looking for a nice sturdy changing table, this is one of the best that you are going to come across.
Customer Review: A great changing table for the price Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this changing table with the matching Delta Jenny Lind crib from another store (shop around for the best price). When they arrived, my husband and I set up the changing table first. It was very easy for us to set up (although I think it would be quite difficult for just one person to do). I did feel like the wood was going to crack at times, as in some places it must be strained to fit together while you tighten the screws, but it held up in the end, and is actually much sturdier than it looks like it is going to be when you take it out of the box. Are there nicer, sturdier products out there? Absolutely, but you're going to pay for the difference. Overall, we are very pleased with the value of the product for the price.
However, as a side note, the oak crib did not match its "matching" changing table. The changing table is a nice reddish oak, while the crib was very blonde. We took the items back to exchange for a matching set, only to receive another unmatched set. Please be aware of the color differences if you are considering purchasing the set.
Customer Review: Perfect! And I use it for my daycare! Summary: 5 Stars
Im really surprised that there are many people complaining about not being sturdy. I run a licensed group daycare home (12 kids) and this thing has been great! You should see all the stuff we have on it, in the middle shelf we have 6 infant spaces with diapers stacked near the front and the spare clothes for each of these kids behind it. The bottom shelf has the same but only one or two kids and the rest of the space is all used for spare clothes for the kids. We also have some pretty big kids using it, the 2 1/2 year olds get changed there every single day and the screws never needed to be tightened. Like I said, we have a daycare, we change 4 infants and 4 toddlers every weekday here and never a problem. Anyway, I will definately be purchasing one for my little baby due in May with all the confidence in the world. I don't condone all the Jenny Lind products though, the crib is great too especially for the money but the cradle didnt last long at all. I did have a BIG problem with that one comming loose all the time and tipping. Trisha
Customer Review: Good Changing Table for people on tight budgets Summary: 4 Stars
I like this table very much. I suggest having your husband or just a guy put it together as other women on this site say it isn't sturdy enough. It's VERY sturdy for me. It doesn't wobble a bit. The only thing I seem to have trouble with is finding a good changing table cover for the pad. It seems the only ones out there are the ones for the changing table contoured pad or whatever. If anyone knows please let me know as I am using travel crib sheets that almost fit but are a bit too big and bunch up and it's a hassle. Another cover I found is a bit too small but does fit if I STUFF the pad in there and i mean STUFF and looks funny but I have no other options right now. Either way I am still managing. Anyway, the shelves are a nice feature. I put baskets on them and fill them with diapers and packs of wipes and things like that. Very attrective. The table to me, is pretty good, and it fit our budget. So, for Moms on a tighter budget, I do recommend this table as it has been proving itself to me so far.
Customer Review: top changing level broke and my child fell through!!! please read all of the reviews! Summary: 1 Stars
I've been using this changing table for 18 months with no problems until this morning my wiggly 25lb. daughter fell through! She could have been really hurt. The rail that the changing platform slides into gave out. On the purchase page on this web site it states for children 3 years old and under but when you get the box it states for 20 pounds and under! I'm guessing the average three year old has long since broken 20 pounds, my daughter was 20 pounds around 11 months and has always been in the 50th percentile. My advice is to spend a little more money on something more substantial so you don't have to spend a lot more money later replacing it or worse possibly on a doctors appointment for an injured child. Please take some time to read all of the reviews. There are so many complaints of cheap material, cracked wood, the pitiful 20# weight limit, bad instructions, screws that keep coming loose, missing parts, and warped panels. Many reviewers agree you get a cheap, poor quality table for a cheap price.
