Customer Review: Lukewarm about the Wipe Warmer

I purchased this wipes warmer thinking it would make diaper changes during the chilly winter months a little more comfortable for my baby. I chucked it after only a couple months of use. As other reviewers have stated, the wipes stay warm for an infinitesimal amount of time once removed from the warmer. My other, larger issue with it was that it ruined the top of my wooden dresser - the area immediately beneath the warmer became warped. I'm not sure if it was heat or moisture or both that ruined the wood, but the split second of warmth from the baby wipes wasn't worth the damage to the furniture. Since some other reviewers had wonderful experiences with the warm wipes making diaper changes less irritating, my suggestion is to purchase a wipes warmer at a second hand store - you'll pay a fraction of the price (around here they usually sell for about $5), there are usually plenty to choose from on the shelves, and if you hate it you're only out $5 or so.Customer Review: Good Wipe Warmer

My husband and I, and our baby, are happy with this wipe warmer. It makes a difference when changing diapers. I can tell our son appreciates it from the way he acts when I change his diaper when we aren't at home - he gets startled by those wipes. There is only one brand of wipes (Pamper's) that I have had problems with drying out in the warmer, so I simply don't buy them anymore. The bulk wipes we purchased at Sam's Wholesale work great with this warmer. We have not had the lid break on us either, but we don't use the pop-up lid, we just leave the main lid unlocked and lift it as needed. The wipes don't cool off that much after you take them from the warmer - unless you have the warmer far from where you change your baby. The purpose is not to feel like they've come out of the microwave but to take the chill out of them anyway. This warmer does just that. I highly recommend it.Customer Review: Good Wipe Warmer

We've had no issues at all with this product. Wipes do not become dried out at all, and we've never had to pour water into the box. Maybe we have a newer model...? In any case, I was very hesitant to use this product because I didn't like the manufacturer. The Baby Bargains book explains how the initial version of this product was known to cause fire or permanent damage to the surface beneath it, and when they recalled the product, they handled the recall miserably. But they must have fixed those problems, because the surface beneath our wipes warmer is only a hair above room temperature. I love this product and try to buy it for all the baby showers I go to now. It works wonderfully, and is worth juggling around baby's room in order to have a spare outlet near the diaper changing station. My husband and I purchased this warmer with gift cards we received for our second baby's birth. We don't really like it. Our wipes dry out down to about the third, sometimes fourth wipe. That's makes for a 6-8 wipe diaper change! (that's a lot of wasted money) Other reviewers are right about the wipes staying moist when it is not as full. But with a newborn, infant or even a toddler I prefer the convenience of opening a refill pack and placing all of the wipes into the warmer instead of half the wipes in and then finding something to keep the second half moist until it's time to refill with the other half. We had a wrap-around warmer with our first child. It wore out around the time we started potty training her. That's the style of wipe warmer I would recommend for new parents, not this one.
