Baby Products Reviews of DEX Products Safe Lift Deluxe SL-01Customer Review: happy Mom Summary: 5 StarsMy son had major stomach problems when he was first born, we found out later that he was allergic to his formula. During that time period he developed a problem with sleeping on his back and got the sensation that he was falling you could see it in his reactions when you layed him down. He would throw up if you put him on his stomach so even that was not an option. Finally we had to put him in his swing and he would sleep for hours in there. Once we found out he was having an allergic reaction he started sleeping 8hrs straight at night in the swing. We knew he would outgrow the swing and once he did around 5 months he still had to be propt up to sleep so he was put in his infant carrier in his crib to sleep, straps were taken out. We also knew that would last long either. Once I found about the incline sleeper I bought it immediately. We thought we would have a terrible time converting him over, he proved us wrong. He loves to sleep on it, of course we might find him off of it at some point while he sleeping but he always ends up back on it. We are now dealing with his first cold since we bought it and it has been wonderful, he sleeps right through the night. I tell everyone about this and how it has made life easier for us, I just wish we had known about it sooner.
Customer Review: Great for inclined sleep Summary: 5 StarsOur baby suffers from acid reflux (he spits up all day)for which he takes Zantac (spits that up, too). We were very concerned about him refluxing at night in his sleep and becoming choked. We were propping him up on his side, but he really preferred sleeping on his back. We were not willing to sacrifice our sleep (and his safety) by bringing him into our bed. We knew this would not prevent him from refluxing anyway. Our pediatrician recommended elevating his crib by putting blocks under the legs at the head. This made me nervous. Then we found this wedge. We never considered putting it directly on top of the mattress under the sheet. We put it under the mattress to incline him that way. It is wonderful this way. We use it with the especially for babies sleep positioner in the back sleeping position, and it is perfect. It may be coincidental, but our 2 month old slept through the night for 10 hours the first night with it, and has slept up to 12 hours ever since. We are so thankful for this product!
Customer Review: Promotes better sleep for babies w/bad ears! Summary: 5 StarsI bought this for my 8-1/2 month old daughter. She is on the verge of getting tubes for chronic ear infections. She has been waking 3 times a night and crying HARD. We took her to the Dr to be sure the last infection had cleared...it had, but the fluid related to the infection can stay in their ears up to 2 months after the infection leaves. The pediatrican recommended raising the head of the crib to relieve the discomfort. The first night she slept on this wedge she crashed & barely moved all night. She was so bright eyed when she woke up I knew she had a good nights rest. Not to mention AMAZON.COM had this on my porch the day after I ordered it !!!
Customer Review: AAP does NOT recommend ANY sleep positioners Summary: 1 StarsPlease read this from the AAP statement! "Avoid commercial devices marketed to reduce the risk of SIDS: Although various devices have been developed to maintain sleep position or reduce the risk of rebreathing, none have been tested sufficiently to show efficacy or safety."

Customer Review: Mixed Reviews! Summary: 4 StarsI appreciate the information provided by "MACIELS" titled, "NOT Recommended to Reduce Reflux by the American Academy of Pediatrics" because I have a 21 week old with GERD. My daughter's pediatricians recommended we buy a wedge and we purchased this one because of Dex's advertisement / claim that it will aid with Reflux.
I won't recommend this product as a reflux aid especially after reading MACIELS' review of the AAP's guidelines but I will say that I don't think it's a completely useless product. I happen to like it. My daughter sometimes spits up in her sleep after she's had a "middle of the night bottle" and there's no way I'm going to sit her up for half an hour after night time feedings because she'll never get back to sleep and I'll be a mess. With this wedge, she seems to spit up less. She sleeps fine on an incline - once she's asleep. If she's really active when I put her down, yes, she'll end up somewhere in the middle of the crib sideways but for the most part, it works well for her. We put her down, turn on her mobile and she's good to go. BTW - my daughter tried Zantac and hated the taste at first - although she got used to it, it just didn't help. She is now taking Prevacid and the Reflux seems worse. May have to try Pepcid... Thanks MACIELS!
