Baby Products Reviews of Cloud b Twilight Constellation Night Light, Turtle

Customer Review: Don't let kids have all the fun.
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm single with no kids or any on the way, but my mom and I ran into this guy while shopping for my baby nephew. Both of us wanted one immediately, but I used my handy Amazon Price Check app on my iPhone to find out that (of course, as usual) Amazon had the better price.

So about the turtle! It's super cute and comes with the batteries already installed. Like everyone else has said, the amber light is fainter than the other two colors, but I just wanted the blue light anyway. The stars look FABULOUS! I'm so jealous that babies these days have all the cool stuff. I was initially wary that the light might make it hard to fall asleep, because I'm used to almost total darkness in my room (heavy curtains and blinds), but I didn't have a problem.

Before buying this little guy I even looked for other products that would do the same thing but weren't marketed for babies. For the price I couldn't find anything comparable.

I made this face while in bed last night staring up at the ceiling: :D

Love it!

Customer Review: Best night light ever!
Summary: 5 Stars

We were still pregnant when we ran across this in a store. We bought it thinking it would be nice for the baby's room, but used it in our room until the baby was born and while in the bedside cradle. This is simply the best night light I have ever seen. True, the amber light is barely seen and the green light is on the faint side. We use the blue only, but that is fine with us. I would like to point out 2 things that I love about it and which prompted the 5 star rating. 1. There is a 45 min shut off, which is plenty of time and still saves battery power. Most other projected night lights I have seen move and play music, but last no more than 5 mins without shutting off. This neither moves, nor plays music, but I love the 45 mins of starry bliss. 2. The batteries last seemingly forever. After 6 months of almost nightly use, we have just replaced the batteries for the first time. It was definitely worth the money, despite using only one of the three colors. I hope this was helpful and I hope you love your turtle as much as we do.

Customer Review: Fantastic for nursing baby at night
Summary: 4 Stars

When I first received the turtle as a shower gift I was a little underwhelmed. Sure it's cute and it casts light but I didn't quite understand the hefty price tag and the rave reviews. I still don't completely understand the inflated price but I do seem to be getting my friend's money's worth since I use the turtle every night. My daughter is only two months old but we use it for middle of the night feedings every single night. I was having trouble finding a light source that wasn't too bright (which was keeping the baby up) but was still bright enough to see what I was doing while I learned how to nurse my daughter. This has fit the bill perfectly. I don't imagine this will be the item I use to teach my children about the constellations but it does seem like it will be a good nightlight when my daughter gets older. I know my 9 year-old would steal it to use if he could. As a child I had glow-in-the-dark star stickers all over my bedroom ceiling to achieve this same effect; the turtle seems much more convenient and homeowner friendly.

Customer Review: Thought we could beat the odds
Summary: 2 Stars

I throughly researched this product before buying it for my toddler at Christmas and decided it was worth the risk of buying one of the "duds" because I was so excited about it. We bought it, and was able to use it for about a month and a half before all but the yellow light died on us. I figured that we ended up spending about $0.75 per usage before it became useless (the yellow light is all but invisible in the darkest of rooms.)
The technology is out there to make this a fantastic, long term usage item, the company must just be too cheap to do it. It was neat while it lasted, the stars end up being about 3 inches in diameter if you set it on the floor and have an average height ceiling. My kids liked it and I loved it, but considering the cost and how long it lasted, I wouldn't buy it again. We plan on gutting it out and inserting our own light to make the shell still usable as a constellation night light. The idea is great, I just wish some other company would take this idea and make it more user friendly.

Customer Review: Not Happy with BabyVision's customer service!
Summary: 4 Stars

We ordered 2 of these turtles. One for our son and one for a baby shower gift. We did receive them in an awesome amount of time but when we got them one worked and one did not work. They did already have 3 AAA batteries installed. The turtle that didn't work had corroded batteries. My husband and I also noticed that one turtle smelled new and the other (with the corroded batteries) had a funky odor. We suspected that the turtle that didn't work may have been used. We did replace the batteries in the turtle that wasn't working and it then was functioning properly. My husband called the BabyVision company who shipped it to us and left a message with the notation that we suspected that one of the turtles was possibly used and that we had paid for two "new" turtles. We called on Labor Day and did not expect a phone call back for a few days but they NEVER called us back! We love the product (after getting it to work properly) but will NEVER order again from this company due to the lack of care for their customers!
