My son who is 2 was having trouble sleeping at night because of being by himself in the dark, and causing us to try and put him to bed for 2 hours every night. My mom and I were at toys R Us and we ended up buying the turtle, just to try and if it didn't work it was still cute. The very first night we tried it, it worked magic, we have had it now for about a month and have had no troubles putting him to bed, none at all. I love it, I can't say enough about it. I ended up ordering my 1 yr old daughter the ladybug, it should be coming soon. I really recommend this to any parent!Customer Review: Celestial nightlight

Absolutely love this item. We take it everywhere we go. It is a great way to create the same ambiance we have at home even when we are thousands of miles away from home. It was such a hit with my friends' children during our vacation that I now buy it as a gift for every child I know. And it is ALWAYS a hit, even with the parents!
Unfortunately, this purchase is a replacement for my daughter. Her's dimmed and died all in one night. I thought the batteries died but it turned out that a battery leaked. I cleaned it and changed the batteries but it didn't work anymore.

My two sons, ages 4 & 2, love this ladybug! My goal was to give my 4-year-old son a way to control a nightlight so it wasn't on ALL night. He took one look at this ladybug and handed over his precious nightlight immediately. We have a vaulted attic ceiling in an old Cape, and the stars look just fine on his walls and ceiling. The blue shows best, followed by green and then red.
The only issue is that they fight over it, so we're buying the new "Sea Turtle" version (not yet available on Amazon as of July 24, 2008) for my 2-year-old at a local store this weekend.

We purchased this as a Christmas gift for our now 5 month old, but it's been commandeered by our 3 year old. She loves it. She loves being able to pick a color every night.
I was nervous about it being battery powered but they have lasted 3 months now, and this is with my 3 year old using it daily for 5-6 cycles.
My biggest gripe would have to be for the timer. This shuts itself off after 10 minutes or so, I wish there was an option to choose a timer length (I love the timer for preserving the batteries, just wish it could stay on a tad longer).

Purchased this as a gift for a friend but my son was given the turtle for Christmas when he was 6 months old however he was 1 1/2 before he paid any attention to it. We have to turn "Turtle" on every night which has helped him learn to count. Just replaced batteries last week. My son has dropped it many times and it is still in one piece and working. Would have to purchase another if anything ever happens to this one.
I read other reviews prior to purchasing this for my friend and was sure to purchase the Cloud b brand as that is what "Turtle" is.
