Baby Products Reviews of Cloud b Twilight Constellation Night Light, Lady BugCustomer Review: Ladybug saved our marriage!!! Summary: 5 Stars
When our almost-three-year-old daughter suddenly began refusing to go to sleep unless one of us stayed in her room, we tried everything. We let her "cry it out" - only one night, because she sobbed and screamed for over an hour before we finally gave in. So one of us stayed in the room with her until she fell asleep, every night. Sometimes we would be in there until 11pm. (She goes to bed at 9:30). Which meant, absolutely no "together time" for us as a couple. We thought it was a stage, just a few nights. Over a month later, we were frantic. We consulted our pediatrician, who gave a few tips, including "get some stars", but mostly said "She'll grow out of it. . . eventually!"
I ordered this ladybug after reading the reviews and waited impatiently the four days until it arrived. When I took it out of the package, she went nuts. She wouldn't let go of it. She carried it around with her everywhere. She sat it next to her on the couch so it could watch tv with her and narrated the storyline to it. When, a couple of hours later, I finally found the tiny screwdriver so I could put batteries in it and show her it actually LIT UP she was ecstatic. I have literally never seen her so excited over a toy.
I explained that Ladybug would now be staying with her instead of Mommy and Papa at night. She said she understood. Still, there was a bit of a struggle when it actually came time for us to leave. But she did let us leave. And since then (we've had it over 2 weeks) she is willing to sleep by herself every night, as long as Ladybug is right beside her. She loves to click the buttons to change the colors while she drifts off. But mostly she likes the red glow.
I realize every child is different, and what works for one might not for another, but this toy saved us. Worth every penny.
Customer Review: Just what our bedtime routine needed! Summary: 5 Stars
I now own 2 of these ladybugs after the 1st one helped so much settling my 2 year old down for bedtime. I have 2 ladybugs, one for my two year old, and one for my 1 year old. These are durable because my girls walk around with them all day often dropping them on our hardwood floors. You don't have to worry about them getting to the batteries because they cant be taken out without a screwdriver, & I dont let them stand on them as I can see that breaking the plastic shell, but they have be launched across the room hitting the hardwood floors & been fine. It honestly helps relax me too when they are not wanting to go with the bedtime program, as well as helping sooth my girls back down when they wake up scared. Honestly why would you want a product with a bunch of bells, whistles & swirling stars when you are trying to get the little ones to relax & go to bed? You are not trying to stimulate them.
Both of my bugs have green, blue, and red lights. The red is pretty much useless, but both other colors work well. I set the bug on a dresser about 54 inches tall that is up against a wall, it shoots at least 50, 4 inch wide clear stars on the ceiling, a half moon, a spray of smaller stars on her curtains, and at least 10 more random stars on the walls (our rooms are about 10x12). This bug will shut off after 45 minutes of use so it is not a true nightlight, but a small little LED nightlight across the room does the trick for us in that dept.
My two year old was a demon before at bedtime, now she gets super excited to go see the moon & stars, she even tells me when we are out at night "oh mama stars are out, it's night night time!" My girl happily trots to her room now to go see her ladybug. This is a really simple product that I wish I would have gotten a really long time ago.
Customer Review: Great Invention Summary: 5 Stars
I just bought this for my 6 year old son who is having a hard time transitioning to our new house. He's getting it for Christmas so not sure what he'll think but I love it. It far exceeds my expectations.
From reading the other reviews, I was a little unsure. First of all came so quick from Amazon (as always) and I took it out of the box and there were NO CHILD PROOF WRAPPING. Sorry, but I hate opening things, I think we had 4 adults working overtime last Christmas to break open the toys. I actually took it out and turned it on and it worked. Even had the batteries in it which I didn't know about until I read on the box when I got it. Which is awesome because it saves me time (trying to hunt down a screwdriver small enough to fit it) I took it into the bathroom and turned it right on.
It is soooo awesome. It has 3 different colors, and I thought the starts were really cute. Now, that being said it is NOT a toy. It is not a stuffed animal, if you want that buy one of those new pillow ones. This is hard plastic and has a soft head and feet. It is something that you would put on the floor or nightstand and leave there. Also, as far as finding constellations, I don't know. I don't really care about that and I'm sure my six year old won't really care either. He'll have more fun making them up.
It does come with a cute little story book and shows how to find about 7 of them. If it does, great, if it doesn't fine. I guess if you are looking for something with actual constellations, you might want to go with something from like Discovery Kids or something.
If you want something really cute and that looks good in a room buy this. I kind of wish I had one in my room. It's really soothing.
Customer Review: Love it! Summary: 5 Stars
After 3 years, we still love the twilight turtle. Baby #2 is almost here so we bought the ladybug as well. My daughter, 3 yrs, decided to keep the ladybug and give the turtle to baby brother. An ideal bedtime treasure. Stars around the room, baby friendly controls, a soft light that shuts off on its own, never timed it, but it must be about 20 minutes. The turtle has been our standard baby shower gift for the last few years, no complaints so far : ).
Ladybug has a softer body, and glows either blue, green or red. Blue and green are reasonably bright, I have read by it in a pinch (barely); the red is just a gentle glow. Turtle has blue, green and amber, similarly the blue and green make great stars and the amber makes just a soft glow. The turtle makes big fat stars; the ladybug makes smaller stars, but also makes a crescent moon. They both time out and turn off on their own.
Controls are almost the same. Three easy buttons on the shell to choose a color. The ladybug has an 'on/off' button on the shell, whereas the turtle only has an 'on' button on the shell. Both have a small adult sized master 'on/off' switch on the underbelly, concealed by a velcro flap.
Not a planetarium, but covers the room with stars. Kiddos can do it themselves if they wake up in the middle of the night. It has been a soothing thing for our daughter to play with as she falls asleep. The only trouble we had was after about 1 1/2 years I thought the blue and green leds quit, but it just needed fresh batteries. Must use very little power to be used every night and still last 1 1/2 years on 2 AAs. Would buy either one again.
Customer Review: Love the item.....BUT..... Summary: 4 Stars
I love Cloud B products and have been a faithful Cloud B customer for several years. My oldest daughter is in love with her twilight turtle and has had it for 2 years. I bought the twilight ladybug for my youngest daughter and it completely fell apart (stuffing coming out), the battery prongs busted during a battery change and the stars won't come on after only 6 weeks. I emailed Cloud B customer service directly, including pictures of the defective ladybug and they emailed me a packing slip to return the item for a brand new one. I disclosed in the email that I bought the item from an Amazon online retailer and that it arrived new in the box with no problems from Amazon. Cloud B customer service has been great to work with and my daughter's replacement ladybug is on it's way.
I gave this item 4 stars because of my experience with Cloud B items in the past. I am certain the one I received was just a dud and am confident in Cloud B products as a whole. The other products we have purchased have held up over several years. They are a reputable company that stands behind their product. I was contacted by customer service within 4 hours of sending my email to them. I would not let my defective ladybug deter anyone from ordering, but wanted to mention it so anyone knew if there was a problem that the company would stand behind it.
