We have a 5-month old baby who is now too large to swaddle (and he can turn over, so swaddling is not a good idea), but he still needs to be soothed to sleep. We bought the Sleep Sheep and attached it to his crib. He now falls asleep to waves or rain and the rhythmic sounds are familiar and comforting to him. In fact, we had the full-sized Sleep Sheep for home and bought the Sleep Sheep On The Go for the daycare center. The daycare provider says all the babies love falling asleep to it! We loved it so much we bought a second Sleep Sheep On The Go for the stroller, car or for when we have to take him to a babysitter's house. We have been having A LOT of trouble getting our 6 month old to sleep, and as part of our bedtime routine we wanted to introduce calming sounds. Many of the CDs and calming "noise maker" products have short loops- so you can hear the repetition in the pattern- which I'm sure our daughter wouldn't have noticed, but it drives me mad. The Sleep Sheep's sounds are not only seamless, but incredibly natural. While it doesn't really help our daughter sleep, it does ease my mind and help me stay calm during the frustrating process of putting her to bed. I just imagine myself on a white sand beach... We would recommend this to anyone who has troubling sleeping or relaxing, not just babies.Customer Review: This is GREAT!

I bought this for my son when we decided to move from one state to another. I thought it would help him transition during the unfamiliar sounds of the car and the new house. It did just that. It gave him a sound to concentrate on that was familiar while he drifted off to sleep helping him orientate himself. This saved us quite a few fussy nights! The reason I only gave it 4 stars was because the velcro on the side of the sheep does tend to pop open and the music box part will slip out! I simply added a couple extra little velcro dots on the inside to insure that the music box didn't get lost in transit when this was on his car seat. All in all a great buy. After trial and error with soothing and trying to get my baby down for naps and bedtime without crying and upset, I recently purchased the Sleep Sheep on the Go. Reviews had stated that the regular one was a bit large and we didn't feel we needed the heartbeat for my 16 month old. We love the sounds although the Whale recording is a short loop and not as good as we had hoped. The problem is that the one we received does not shut off automatically at the 23 or 45 minute intervalls. It also stopped working altogether and this happened the same day it arrived. I am requesting a replacement but we are disappointed in its workmanship as my baby just loves her Sleep Sheep!Customer Review: Puts me to sleep too

I think this is a great product. It seems to really work for my little one. I love how soft and cute it is, but it is also very functional. I like that it's small, so we can take it on the go. It has a velcro strap and we use it to strap it to the pack n play or the car seat. There's the option to take out the sound piece to make it even easier to transport.
I agree with a previous reviewer who said that the rain and stream sounds are very similar. I can barely tell them apart. I usually use the waves sound. The whale noise is a little odd, but it's effective. This sound machine also helps lull my husband and I to sleep, which is an added bonus.
