We love this sleep sheep as it has the sound of nature that our daughter likes. It keeps her calmed and helps her sleep by herself. It is very cute.
Pro: - you can wash the stuff animal / sheep. (you can take the electronic part of it out).
- it has 4 different sounds of natures.
- it's small and light, so you can hang it to the crib.
Con: - the longest duration of the noise maker/sound only 45 minutes.
- sometimes the turn on dial does not work as it should. It keeps shutting it off by itself even though we change the batteries. We have turned it all the way off, and waited for a few seconds, then turned it back on.
We have to buy another one since the other one is having issue (keeps shutting off by itself), and we keep one at the daycare and one at home. Over all it is very good item to have.

We just received the sleep sheep yesterday, and not coincidentally our five-week old slept in her crib for the first time with the sleep sheep hanging on the side nearby. Just this morning she got a bit fussy, and the sleep sheep calmed her down in about a minute and a half. I like the timed feature--45 minutes seems just enough to do the trick. The sheep is made out of very soft material too and is super cute. I agree that the on-the-go version is jus the right size. Like many of the reviewers, we practice the 5 Ss of _Happiest Baby on the Block_. The shushing gets a bit tiring, but the sound of the sleep sheep serves the purpose, and more effectively. It even serves as a little pillow for her head when we've swaddled her and are jiggling her. This is a terrific product that will be indispensable for us. For any parent who is raising a baby using gentle Happiest Baby on the Block soothing methods this "Sleepy Sheep" is a lifesaver. Babies really do respond to swaddling, being on their sides or stomachs, jiggling and "shush-ing" noise. We have used all of the white noises on this sheep and they all work to various degrees. We found the ocean sound to be closest to a parent "shssssh/shush" with breaths in between. Rather than shssssssh your lips off till your throat is bone dry, this Sheep does lots of the work for you and can be adjusted in volume for any ambient noise. Great item and did wonders for our little one's "4th trimester" She switches off like a light now when she recognizes the preparation and sheep sounds! Every new parent with a fussy baby should have this as a tool along with the Happiest Baby DVD!!! Great Item.Customer Review: Get two, it's that good.

This was a gift, and became such a necessity that we ended up purchasing a second sleep sheep!
First, I like the "on the go" version, it's a little smaller than the original, and in my opinion there is no need for the sheep to be huge. This is the perfect size.
The strap works great to attach to a bassinet, crib, stroller, whatever you need it for.
The volume gets pretty loud--works perfectly to drown out the noise of men watching football immediately below the baby's room to give you an idea.
Finally, you can have the sounds automatically shut off after 23 or 45 minutes--most of the similar items only make noise for 15 minutes.
I purchased the second sheep for my baby's crib at daycare, and it improved her napping there tremendously. This is a "must have."

Like other reviewers, the problem I have with the On the Go Sleep Sheep are 1) no heartbeat sound like the larger version and 2) no continuous play, so baby would wake up as soon as it stopped. As a result we bought the Homedics Soundspa Lullaby white noise machine to put our baby to sleep at night--it plugs in, plays continuously, and also has the ceiling projector, which was actually a nice night light when baby was new. We keep the Sleep Sheep tethered to her bouncy chair (Fisher Price Aquarium Bouncer which has *continuous* vibration--also necessary for our baby) which we use for shorter naps during the day when we are in the same room, so it's easy to push the button to restart the sound. Ocean is the preferred setting. Rain is also good. Stream is ok. The whale noise is just creepy.
