Baby Products Reviews of Cloud b Sleep Sheep On The Go Travel Sound Machine with Four Soothing SoundsCustomer Review: Best purchase ever! Summary: 5 Stars
We got the full size sleep sheep as a gift when our son was 4 weeks old, and didn't use it because he liked the Soothe & Glow Seahorse he liked the soft glow and music. When he got older he rejected the seahorse and had trouble falling asleep sometimes. I reintroduced the Cloud b Sleep Sheep - Four Soothing Sounds From Nature when he was 11 months. He smiled at it and gave it a kiss. Ever since then he has been falling asleep with the sounds of the sleep sheep (ocean, rain, and whale) The large sleep sheep also has a heartbeat sound that I believe would be great for young babies but we never use it. Recently I purchased the Sleep Sheep on the go for our traveling, since we like to take long day trips and trips to grandma's house. Dragging the Large sleep sheep would just be too much.(it is very big) The sleep sheep on the go has been a life saver! And we also love how it has a stream sound instead of the heartbeat. Other side notes include:
The sound part car be removed easily for washing and drying. It is still cuddly even though it has the sound box. It has never fallen out of the sheep. The sheep is perfect size for your little one, and VERY soft. We now want to purchase the Cloud B Dozy Dolphin On The Go Four Soothing Sounds, Ocean and the Cloud B Gentle Giraffe On The Go Four Soothing Sounds, Safari version!
Customer Review: sleep sheep / slumber bear / back to sleep bear comparison Summary: 4 Stars
the sheep itself is very soft and very cuddly (i also have the back to sleep bear and the slumber bear by Prince Lionheart and these are not as well made or as attractive to a small baby), the white sounds (ocean and rain) are great and very effective although i prefer the in-utero sounds of the slumber bear / back to sleep bear as they combine the heartbeat with a swooshy white noise that has been very effective for my daughter(the heart beat on the larger sleep sheep is very 'thumpy' not white noise). The timer settings are great, 25 mins is ideal for my child, and 45 mins for a more fussy night - Prince Lionheart goes off after 5 mins - however the Slumber bear / back to sleep bears are sound and movement activated and this is a real winner for me as my baby wakes frequently at night and resettles herself when the white noise restarts . . . the only problem with the sheep is that i would have to go into the nursery to restart it myself and once my daughter sees me she gets upset when i leave again. The reason we have all 3 is that the first slumber bear we had stopped working recently and we need 2 sound boxes going off at once to settle her because she likes her white noise VERY LOUD to drown out her brothers shrieks / sleep talking . . . . I use this to get her to sleep initially and the back to sleep bear for resettling in the night.
Customer Review: The sleep sheep has it's ups and downs. Summary: 3 Stars
I liked this product as a smaller, slightly cheaper version of the sleep sheep. The sounds are good quality and don't sound like loops, I can't hear the repetition easily. The volume can get quite loud which is good for an infant and for sound masking, I usually set it to maximum. Overall our child has had great luck falling asleep to the sounds this machine makes, esp. stream and ocean. BUT...
The down side of this is that, like another user complained about, there is no continuous play mode. There is 23 and 45 minutes only and a vague "middle position that appears to be one of the two.
The sound cuts off sharply when it's finished its time-out which is enough to frequently wake up our baby, very frustrating! It would be good to, at least, have a fade-out for the timed sound.
The battery life is excellent on this product, I'm still using the original batteries after 2 months of lots of usage, so I can't see why they don't have a continuous setting. I would not buy this product again because of that single flaw.
So if you have a power-sleeping kid, then this is probably a fine product, but our light-sleeper isn't satisfied. :(
Customer Review: Absolutely love and works so well Summary: 5 Stars
During our time of unemployment right after AppleBlossom was born we were not much into buying her things, but there were some things that we compromised on. One was that I was dying to have one of these Cloud B Sleep Sheep. We were in the educational toy store and this was the first real thing that I wanted to buy for her, so we compromised. Instead of getting the full sized real Sleep Sheep, we bought the Sleep Sheep on the Go. We use it everywhere!! I could say that mostly it stays in her crib, but that's not counting for when it's out in the living room, in the car, or on the stroller. There have been times (beginning of teething I think) where she is just about inconsolable and we try everything. I turn up the volume on the rain sound of the sleep sheep and put it near her ear and it's a miracle worker. She stops crying and just listens. It is a great distraction tool. Just about every night this is what lulls her into sleep and it makes just enough noise to cover up any sounds of our preparations for bed with brushing teeth and running showers in the bathroom next to the wall where her crib is. Easily I could say that this is one of the best purchases we have made thus far.
Customer Review: Puts my baby right to sleep! Summary: 5 Stars
My 5-week old loves his sleep sheep! We have the big one at home on the crib & this one for travel (attaches to the pack-n-play, bouncer chair, etc). Very soothing for the little guy - especially when trying to get him to fall asleep in unfamiliar places. The heartbeat sound on the original size is not available on the "on to go" size...but my favorites are the ocean & whale (mostly bc I don't mind listening to it through the monitor when I'm trying to fall asleep too).
A few things...
-There is a timer on it that shuts its off after about 1/2 hour or an hour. This could be a downside if your baby needs it continously playing...my little guy only needs it to fall asleep. If he wakes up & I have to settle him back down...I just turn it back on.
-The volume control is great! I turn it up in noisier environments or if mounted farther away from his ears.
-Super soft & cuddly! Pretty cute too!
-Easily attaches anywhere!
If I had seen this one before I bought my original size one...I would have just purchase 2 of these & saved the cost difference (paid $5 more for the full size).
Every mom should have one!!
