I received Sleep Sheep as a shower gift from my mother-in-law. I did not fully understand what a wonderful gift it was until I attached it to the side of my 2 week old's crib at 2am and turned it on. She was immediately quiet and content and, before I knew it, sound asleep! Now at 2 months, she sleeps well and Sleep Sheep has become part of our successful bedtime routine. She likes the rain sound best.
It is essentially a cute sound machine with Velcro straps that allow you to hang it on the crib (on the outside, of course, to avoid the possibility suffocation). I have chosen to set it to run for 45 minutes, but there is also a 23 minute setting.
It will definitely be traveling with us at the holidays!

We use this just about every night. It has become part of the "routine" of bedtime. It works for naptime as well...I lay her down and turn on the sheep (I prefer the ocean sound, my husband really likes the whales) and it's as though she hears it and realizes it's time for sleep. 99% of the time she is asleep well before it runs through the 23 minute cycle. We do have the newer one with the 40-some minute option as well but haven't needed to run it that long. Since her bedroom is so close to ours, I have come to enjoy the sounds myself as I lay in bed at night! :) Maybe I need my own! I am all for any product that relieves some of the unpredictable sleep patterns and bedtime difficulties that come with every infant!Customer Review: It was the perfect gift!

I bought this for a friend who is expecting a second daughter, wanting the new baby to have something special too. Their first is about 20 months and I know she has sleeping issues, so anything to buy them extra sleep with #2 I thought would be appreciated! Well, here is the email we got from her husband yesterday: "[Baby #1] has gotten really attached to the sleep sheep you got for the baby-to-be. She has taken over ownership of it. [My wife] called me to tell me that [Baby #1] was freaking out, trying to find the sleep sheep, when she found it she hugged it and fell asleep.
If this works, I will forever be indebted to you both... "

I love the Sleep Sheep. It still helps my 8 month old daughter get to sleep at night. I usually put it on the "rain" or "ocean" sounds as the "whale" and "heartbeat" are kind of strange and not very soothing. She definitely falls asleep and stays asleep much better with it on. It is especially useful when she gets up in the middle of the night to nurse and is still fairly sleepy. It helps her go right back to sleep without a problem when I lay her back down in her crib. We have been using the Sleep Sheep since my daughter was born and came home from the hospital as a preemie. I highly recommend this product to new parents. White noise is wonderful thing when you have a fussy baby who doesn't sleep well.Customer Review: Awesome!

I tested whether or not my baby was soothed by making my own CD of vacuum sounds, running water, etc. BUT the problem with that is EVERYONE has to listen to it :( It's ok for awhile but hours and hours makes it a little crazy making. SO awesome Grammy bought Sleep Sheep. I eyed Mr. Sheep with some suspicion as we'd also tried a projector sound machine by Homedics and it broke after a night. And putting the sound part into the sheep was frustrating because it has to go in exactly right but when it does it goes in like butter. Anyway, the true test...whether or not it kept my baby sleeping soundly. It does! Woo hoo! I'm happy, she's happy. Well, actually, I'm ecstatic and she's asleep.
