Is 23 minutes of an auio pacifier enough for your child? That's the question you'll have to answer before you purchase this item. The sheep is cute, but not very soft or cuddly for the very young. So for little ones, it's the soothing sounds that is of primary importance. The rain noise is the most soothing. And the volume ranges from very quiet to quite loud if placed near the sleeping child. But the machine, which comes out of the sheep quite easily, plays for 23 minutes only. Some babies prefer constant white noise and wake after the 23 minutes. I found white noise machines to be more helpful for my baby, as they also help block out noises from the rest of the family/pets/house. This is a cute idea, but I think some different time options would have been better.Customer Review: Must-Have Item

We received THREE of these as baby gifts and quickly learned why - Sleep Sheep WORKS. When my daughter was still sleeping in our room, this helped us all sleep better. I have since given both the "On-the-go" sleep sheep and this version to several other new parents. As others have commented, some babies wake up due to the fact that the timer only has two options - 23 or 45 minutes. We have not had this problem more than a few times. We love, love, love this item and kept the small "on-the-go" sheep attached to her carseat for the first six months of her life - prompting many questions in restaurants and grocery stores - "Do you hear rain?" My husband and I both think that the whale sounds are creepy...but luckily there are several other options which are very soothing.Customer Review: Well loved but the automatic timer could be better

The sleep sheep (set on ocean) has resided in our daughter's crib since she was just a few weeks old. We turn it on whenever she falls asleep and it soothes her very quickly (including in the middle of the night). She adores it and often holds it closely while sleeping. However, now that she is an older baby, she often wakes from her nap when the automatic timer shuts off after 45 minutes, so I do wish I could leave it on for the entire duration of her nap (I'd be happy to put in some more batteries - we've only had to refill it once in 18 months even with daily use). Similarly, I wish I could program it to come on in the early morning, when she is also likely to wake early if she hears a loud noise. The Sleep Sheep has been a godsend in helping my baby (age three months) sleep. After tracking my baby's internal sleeping schedule, I incorporated the Sheep into our nap and bedtime routine. After only two days, I'm able to lay him in his crib while he's still awake, and he falls asleep on his own.
This has been the best sleep aid product that I've bought. The sounds play on a nice, long cycle. The timing was a problem with other products I tried to use. These items had an auto-shutoff at around five minutes, which was nowhere near enough time for my little one to settle. As well, I like that the Sheep has volume control.
All in all, this is a great item. I'm planning to buy one for my friends that are expecting babies.

I got this a few days ago as a Christmas present for my 6 month old son. Normally he wakes up 3-4 times a night and we have to feed and rock him back to sleep but we used "lamby" (that's what we call him) that night and he slept through the entire night and didn't wake up until 10am. I called it a Christmas miracle. We assumed it was a fluke and he was just overly tired from the busy day (which normally makes it even harder for him to sleep) but we tried it again and he slept through the night AGAIN without waking a single time. We've used it for all his naps as well and normally it takes him 10 minutes of fussing before he finally falls asleep but he's out within seconds, 2 minutes tops, when we use lamby. This thing is amazing.
