Customer Review: Avoid this high chair!!

My daughter is now 1 year old, we bought and started using this chair when she was about 8 months old, and I regret buying this high chair every time I use it, which is daily. I have all the pieces of the set: the pack and play, the stroller, and the carrier/car-seat. I've found that every item has had small annoyances, but that's to be expected, and overall each item has been high quality, very well made, and very useful... except this one. Let's start with the tray mechanism, #1: it is close to impossible to pull out/off the tray with one hand, and with the baby in one hand you only have ONE hand. I've been able to combat this by balancing the baby on one hip holding the bar at the floor with one foot, to keep the high chair from moving, and then shimmy and shake the tray off with my one free hand. It's turned into a game for my daughter, and even though she thinks it's great fun, I'm always afraid that my foot is going to slip and we're all (me, baby, and high chair) going to go crashing to the floor. #2 still on putting the tray on, but a totally different issue: once you get your little cutie-pie into the chair and buckled in you're in the process of wrestling the tray back on, and this process takes almost more then two hands. You're shimming, you're shaking, again my daughter thinks this is great fun, and then it finally gives - BAM, and you've just slammed the piece of the highchair that holds the child in place into your poor baby's crotch. Even if you are very careful and take your time it still happens, my daughter tends to expect it now and tries to lift herself a little bit to avoid it. I'm pretty sure that if I had had a boy instead of a girl I would be worried about his own chance to have children at this point. I've simplified this whole process by removing the straps and NEVER removing the tray, just slipping my daughter down between the tray and the seat, and then snugging up the tray as needed. We still end up smashing her crotch from time to time, but it's not as frustrating as removing the tray for each snack and meal. #3 one of the things I was really excited about was the two removable trays that came with the high chair, and the fact that they were dishwasher safe... except that they won't fit in my dishwasher. I have a standard size Bosch and they are too big unless you lay them across the top rack, taking up the whole rack. Now I don't know about you, but I don't have the time or money to run a dishwasher with only the bottom rack filled. So I hand wash them, which it is still nice to not have to take the whole tray off to wash it, but I was really just looking forward to popping it in the dishwasher. On a side note, I rarely use the extra tray cover and since there is no storage place for it on the chair it ends up hanging out in my daughters closet. We're actually in the process of buying a new high chair right now, not out of necessity, but out of frustration. So unless you're willing to fight with your highchair EVERY time you go to use it, I would suggest going with something else.
