Baby Products Reviews of Chicco Keyfit 30 Infant Car Seat, AdventureCustomer Review: Perfect, unless you have twins Summary: 4 StarsWhen we opted to adopt, I researched and researched car seats. The Key Fit 30 seemed to be the best option and we bought it. We unexpectedly ended up with twins, so I bought a second one. After using them for two weeks, I love them. The Latch system is amazingly easy to use, compared to the seat I used 5 years ago with my other son. They snap in and out of the bases so easily, and with preemies, I liked that the seats went down to 4 pounds. However, I decided I was ready to venture out of the house and started looking for a double stroller option. I was going to use the snap and go, but it's not compatible. After a call to Chicco, there is currently no double stroller that will work with these. The customer service rep told me they were aware of this and they have one in production that will be ready in 2010. That is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars. I am looking to sell these and go with a lesser car seat just so I can have the double stroller option.
Customer Review: Dad's point of view Summary: 5 StarsThis is the 4th car seat I installed in my life and it's absolutely by far the best. Look at the manufacturer's website and click on the product demo. Yes, it is that easy. The base has a leveling foot and bubble levels so it is perfect in almost any car. It fits in both of our cars so well I can't believe it. There is no doubt the car seat is secure. No more pillows or rolled towels.
Our 7 month old junior is outgrowing the 22lbs infant seat we borrowed. I wanted to install the convertible ones (Britax marathon) as rear facing but could not fit them into the back seat of our cars with enough angle. Tried to use pillows and towels to level the seat but it didn't seem to be secure solution at all. Now he will travel securely and comfortably, rear facing until he is able to travel in forward facing toddler seat.
Big kudos to whoever designed this seat and especially the base!
Customer Review: Contact Dermatities Summary: 1 StarsCar Seat is great except that every where our son touches it (back of legs, arms, head, etc.) he breaks out in a rash. We had to take a basinette cover to use as a car seat cover.
Customer Review: Extremely hot Summary: 3 StarsMy baby is always sweating with this carseat, even the AC is all the way up and I feel cold in the front seat.
Don't know why, wonder whether there is a solution for this.
Beside this, we like the carseat, pretty good looking.
Customer Review: awesome carseat Summary: 5 StarsI used a hand me down infant carseat from France for my first son and hated every minute of it because it was heavy, ugly, unsafe, unlevel, etc. I would literally hold his head steady from the driver's seat at times! So I decided with my second son to really do my research and buy the safest I could find and this was it. It looks really good, is not incredibly heavy, holds their head steady, is level in any car, is quick and easy, etc. I highly recommend this product.
