Baby Products Reviews of BuggyBagg Shopping Cart Cover - Single Pattern: Jungle

Customer Review: Padded like a futon and super quick install
Summary: 5 Stars

This cart cover is so easy to use and fun for my 8mo old that I find myself thinking up reasons to go shopping just so we can use it! We have the Stripe pattern.

Specifically, here's why I like it so much:
*Um....padding first and foremost!! It reminds me of a baby-sized futon mattress lol. And the padding exsists on the back, the front, in between baby's legs, and the sides (!).

*Pockets for stuff. This sets this product apart from the rest big time. I had a cheapo cover that not only was ridiculous to install one handed, it didn't offer a place to put a wallet, keys, coupons etc. I'd have to also bring the diaper bag, put that beast in the large part of the cart, and also bring the cover, and the kiddo. Now I honestly only need to bring the Buggy Bagg and my baby. I put my wallet, keys, cell phone in the open pockets and diaper, wipes, burp cloth in the zippered part and we're all set!! LOVE that!

*Easy to install and take down. I had a cheapo before this one and it took me 10 mins to get it all situated. Due to the padding and design of the BuggyBagg, in contrast, it is able to stand on it's own (and I mean that both technically and figuratively) so when you set it into the cart, it is already alighned and in place...no fiddling around to figure out which end is up etc. From there you flop the pocket flap to the back and pull the front elasticized bit out and over the handles. I always put my baby in after that, buckle her in first, and THEN buckle the cover to the cart. I do it this way because it will always take two hands to buckle a buckle so there is no other way!!! So I plop the cover, flip the ends, insert child, then buckle. I often forget to put the velcro crotch padding together, though, but that's because it's winter here and my kid always has a pram or snow suit-like thing on anyway. Even if I don't, though, the padding is still there. To take it down you simply unbuckle stuff first, remove baby, flip the flaps back into the free-standing cover, grab the handles and go. I don't bother zipping/unzipping....I don't know if I ever will. See, the cover doesn't need to be zipped to stay together and that's another great thing about it so zipping it is just extra "work" i guess. Why bother? So I can't commnet on the zipping up of the product.

*Loops and elastic bottle holders. This isn't incredibly revolutionary, as even my ex-cover had one or two, but it's good to mention that the BB does in fact have them. I hook a Lamaze toy to one (lots of things to "do" on one of those wonders!!) and her teething keys that are attached with several links to the other. She loves links as a toy by themselves so I can remove her keys if I want to and she has links as toys, too. I put a sippy cup in one of the elastic holders but was too nervous she'd toss the thing out so I didn't offer it to her. I need to get a sippy that has handles that are completely affixed so that I can attached the cup with some links I think.

Things that I think could use improvement (even though I'd buy it again as in in a heartbeat if my present one was stolen or damaged!!! lol)...

~Carrying handle could be longer. Or better yet, adjustable. It's easier for me to carry things on my shoulder than in my hands and with the lenght of these handles, I end up being able to hang it on the forearm of the same arm I hold my baby with so that I have a free hand for whatever. This works pretty well but I have found myself wishing I could either make it a little longer so that it fit at least to my elbow (with a winter coat on) or, better, over my shoulder. But I'm sure I'll get used to it.
~Bulky when carrying. I dont' know how they would fix this while keeping everything else the same (because the product is absolutely fantastic) but since the handles are on the short side, if I have several bags (which also as you know have short handles) to bring in I find I then have baby, the bulky cover, AND any shoppping bags I might have acquired all in one arm/hand (so of course I have a free hand for catching a falling baby or mom of course). If I put the cover in the free hand/arm, I can't easily get me, baby, and cover thru doorways w/o getting caught somehow. I dont' want to see padding reduced one bit, though, so I doubt this is fixable. However, it would be ameliorated by lengthining (or again making adjustable) the handles so that I can choose to sling it over a shoulder and hold my shopping bags on my forearm. Hope that made sense!!!

*When choosing a pattern I found it hard because I like neutral things but that's me. I don't need a pattern to be the "toy" y'know? Especially when I can ATTACH toys to it as it is. I want a simple pattern that won't look garrish if my baby is wearing something also patterned. For instance, the stripe pattern clashed crazily when I had my daughter in her fleece romper from Carter's that is patterned like a cow!! lol. It looked so cute on one hand but really quite an eyefull. Since it is washable, I don't need it to "hide stains".........I'd love to see solid colors in the same soft material!!!

That's it!! I'd give it as a shower gift to even my closest women friends and family in a split second so that says alot. I'd also say to anyone trying to save $$ by getting a knockoff that $50 is not far enough away from $20 to justify for the difference in quality and usability!! Plus, you are pretty much guaranteed to USE the buggybag and not leave it behind in frustration. PLUS you are also very likely to use it for any future babies. Not to mention this can be used until kiddo is 3yrs old!! So you can spend $20 on 2 or 3 uses or $50 on hundreds...and have a better time all around doing it!! I say save a little extra $$ and come back when you have $50. Seriously. This thing is awesome, despite my picky handle length and pattern choice "negatives"!!!!
