I placed my order for this carseat and received it within 10 days. The Date of Manufacture was for the same month that I ordered it - I was pleasantly surprised by that. I have had a Roundabout for a few years but will need two shortly. Amazon's pricing paired with no sales tax and free shipping made this a real bargain.
The seat itself is amazing to use. Very safe, very easy to understand how it works. The latch mechanism is easy to install and keeps the seat extra tight in the car. The fabric is very soft, machine washable for about 100 washes before it starts to wear out (from previous experience) and the belts are very easy to adjust as your child grows. I really appreciate having the belts very low and close to my child's hips in the 5-point harness. Some convertible carseats set the crotch strap too high, or not tight enough so baby's legs are too loose. Not here. There is nothing confusing or hard to understand. I also love how almost everything can be replaced and/or taken off to be properly washed/cleaned. The straps, fabric and soft foam can all go in the washing machine. All of the styrofoam can be ordered for fairly cheap from [...]. This has been #1 in consumer reports for years for a reason. You won't be disappointed.

This car seat is amazing. I also have a Recaro, which I bought because it would last so long, but I think the Roundabout will meet our needs for a long time, too. My son is 7 almost 8 months, and pushing 25 lbs. I was worried that he'd outgrow a smaller seat, but I don't think that's the case, after all. He is MUCH more comfortable in the Britax, and he can actually take a bottle in the seat and take comfortable naps. The Recaro sits a bit too upright for either of those activities, unless you use some kind of towel or noodle to adjust it. I don't like the idea of pool toys involved in propping up my baby's car seat. I do like the Recaro in my Mom's SUV (Grandma loves having a car seat, and it is a nice one) but I prefer the Britax in my Subaru for ease of getting in and out, room left in the backseat, and baby's overall comfort, especially for longer trips. I don't feel like I sacrificed quality by buying the cheaper model (as opposed to the Marathon), it's our best car seat yet.Customer Review: Comfortable and Easy to Install- Love it!

I purchased this car seat for my son based on many recommendations from friends and the the reviews on this website. My husband was out of town when it arrived so I had to install it in my VW Touareg all on my own. It was really easy to install, the instructions were helpful and straitforward. My child has been comfortable and happy and I have had absolutely no complaints with the seat so far.
The only problem is that there has apparently been a recall on some of the seats as the back harness becomes unclipped if you loosen it for adjustment. I haven't had this problem yet- but it's been easy for me to keep an eye on as I have the seat installed rear-facing. It might be more of an issue once I turn the seat around in a few months. I believe the company has been sending some kind of "tool" to fix the problem to the seats that are affected so my advice would be to register your car seat as soon as you get it- just in case.

We've used this car seat from birth. My daughter is 24 lbs and 21 months, and we still have her rear-facing. There are numerous studies in the Injury Prevention Journal indicating this is the safest position for her.
We had the seat professional installed and it worked perfect for our almost 8 lbs newborn daughter. She left the hospital in this seat, and we've been 100% pleased.
I've washed the cover twice in a year and a half. I washed it on cold and hung it to dry. It is easy to take on and put off. I've installed the seat in several other cars due to traveling and it couldn't be easier. I know it's safe. It's obvious she's comfortable as she doesn't fuss when we put her in it.
I felt compelled to write this review because I saw someone else said you couldn't use it for a newborn. YES, you can. It's rated as such and it worked great.

We love this car seat! It fits in our 2004 GMC Envoy XL with no problem. It's in the middle (which does prevent us from folding the seats down), but we can still move the front seats all the way back and recline them. We started using the seat for my daughter when she was 9 months old as she was starting to get cramped in the carrier. She has more room and is much happier in the Roundabout.
My only complaint is that it is a little tough to get it installed nice and sturdy. It usually takes a second (or third) attempt and a second set of hands is helpful. The base of our seat isn't flat and neither is the base of the car seat, so you have to get it situated just right. But once you do, it's great! And I love the floor anchor which makes me feel like it's extra stable.
