Baby Products Reviews of Britax Roundabout 40 Convertible Car Seat, OnyxCustomer Review: hands down best car seat out there Summary: 5 Stars
i searched for months before deciding on which car seat would be safest and most efficient for my son. after reading all the consumer safety recommendations, i found this to be the best one. it is very nice and EXTREMELY safe for my busy little bee. it is also very easy to clean. it says not to put the fabric in the wash, but what toddler doesn't make huge messes in his car seat and get it sticky. you can't vaccuum sticky! so i decided to throw it in the wash on gentle and it came out looking like new! works perfectly fine still after 2 years and i can use it for about another year. for the money it is well worth it compared to cheaper versions who don't have very many safety ratings compared to britax. love it love it love it. my son loves it too! :)
Customer Review: The Volvo of Car Seats Summary: 5 Stars
We've been using the Britax Roundabout for a few months now. Since money is tight, we bought only one to use between 2 cars. Our daughter is 18 months old, and we still keep her rear facing according to the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines. The ease of use of this seat is excellent. There is velcro on the sides of the seat to keep the belts out of the way when placing the child into the seat, or taking the child out. The seat is light, yet durable. It is easy to clean as well. And, you will never lose the instruction booklet, as it is connected to the seat and hides underneath the cloth shell. Overall, this is an excellent buy. It feels like quality, and so far for us, the quality factor is still there.
Customer Review: Great Choice for Honda Civic Summary: 4 Stars
This car seat just fits in my 2002 Honda Civic Si. I can't imagine how a "regular" car seat could ever fit in this car. If you have a Honda Civic (or similar sub-compact), this car seat from Britax is the only choice for your vehicle.
Cons? Of course. My daughter is about 15 lbs. and has much less support in this seat compared to the one that came with our Chicco travel system. This seat is rated for newborns but I would never put my newborn in it. The other issue I have is how the base digs into the upholstery. After it was installed for a week I had deep impressions in my back seat. You might want to consider a car seat saver from Prince Lionheart. That's what I did.
Customer Review: I love this car seat....so does my baby!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I love this car seat! It fits very securely in my very small, 2 door, cavalier Z24! It was very easy to install and adjust to my baby's needs. He is almost 5 months old and has hated his infant seat since day one. He would cry from the moment I put him in it until the moment I got him out. The Britax Roundabout puts him to sleep the second I start the car! His head does not slump forward and he has room to move his arms. It is so worth the money, and trust me, I am not made of money, but it has no factor when it comes to my little boy's safety, and I can tell a huge safety difference in this seat compared to other less expensive seats that my neice had when she was a baby!!
Customer Review: Good carseat Summary: 4 Stars
I am not rating it 5 stars as I have only been using it for a month now. I really like the part that it is compact and not too heavy. I was using Eddie Bauer before and that was very heavy and took lot of space in my car. Also, I like the fact that it is easy to remove the seat cover and put it back when you are want to wash it. One minor minus point is that the seat cover is not as soft as the Britax Marathon I had before. I have heard a lot of great things about Britax (Marathon and Roundabout), so I went ahead with this purchase though it is a little expensive. When it comes to the safety of your child, I think a little more money would not matter.
