Customer Review: No shoulder pads
Summary: 4 Stars

We like the roundabout. We used to have a safety 1st, but had an accident, so replaced it with the roundabout. It is much easier to install using the latch, and it fits more snuggly (we can get it more tight against the seat than with the safety 1st). It is much more comfortable for him. We bought it because of the great safety reviews. HOWEVER, there are no shoulder pads over the shoulder straps. My son complains they dig into his neck. I called and asked Britax why they don't have shoulder straps. They said the roundabout just hasn't been tested with shoulder straps, so they can't say for sure if it's safe. Their other models, they said, have shoulder straps. I asked why they haven't been tested, and they said they just haven't (no apparent reason). I asked if it would cut his neck if we were in an accident, and the lady said, "Depends on the kind of accident." I can't see one reason shoulder straps would make it unsafe, but I can see a big reason they would make it more comfortable and safer. They said I could purchase them, but just for shoulder pads is $20 but $10 shipping. Rip off.

Customer Review: Your child is safe with Britax
Summary: 5 Stars

When shopping for a convertible car seat for my son, I decided that it was much more important to me to buy a seat that had very good review and high safety ratings. I splurged a bit (for my conservative budget) and bought the Britax Roundabout convertible car seat, and I have not been disappointed.
I absolutely LOVE this car seat. It is built so well and is so sturdy. I feel so safe knowing that my son is in a Britax. The seat belts are great because they adjust and loosen very easily, so it is very easy to get my son in and out. I love the handy velcro on the seat belt which holds it out of the way when you put your child in. My mom bought a more inexpensive car seat for when she is watching my son, and while hers seems to work alright, I am always frustrated with the seat belt, which is VERY hard to tighten and loosen. The cheaper models I have seen are also a LOT more flimsy than the Britax.

When shopping for a car seat, safety is most important! Do your research, and I think you will find, like I did, that Britax is definitely the way to go!

Customer Review: I love this product
Summary: 5 Stars

I am so happy with this purchase that I want to let you all know about it. I was rammed by a guy who ran a red light 6 weeks after I bought this seat and was so happy my baby was safe. The only thing that woke him up in the accident was the smoke filling the car from the airbags! We now have a second roundabout since britax recommends replacing the seat if you're in an accident where the airbags deploy. This time I chose the grey fabric but I kept the old one so I can change it if I want.

My favorite points about this seat:
* Easy installation (especially when you have to switch between cars)
* Sturdy construction
* Velcro to keep the seat belt aside while you manouver baby
* Baby seems very happy and comfortable in it
* Five point harness is easy to height-adjust
* Fits in an airplane seat (I can't imagine how anything bigger than this fits but the roundabout is great for the airport...check out the go go kidz travelmate by the way - it works great with this seat).

Customer Review: Comfortable, Safe, & Sized Right
Summary: 5 Stars

We've been using our Britax Roundabout for over a year now. We had heard that it was a safe seat worth its cost. It is! We love it!

PROS:
My son seems comfortable in it, whether he's awake or asleep.
The harness is easy to adjust.
I love that the fabric is soft and doesn't get hot (like vinyl can) and that it's easy to clean.
It works great both rear and front facing.
The seat fits him very well. He is 33" tall, 28 lbs., and almost 2 years old. This seat fits as well now as it did a year ago. I can see him fitting in it for at least another year, probably two.

CONS:
It's bulkier and harder to get in and out of the car than infant seats are, but that is to be expected of a toddler seat.
When the seat was new, the dial that you use to loosen or tighten the harness belts sometimes was "sticky" or difficult to release and turn. We are used to pushing harder, and it also has become less "sticky."

Customer Review: SAFEST OUT THERE
Summary: 5 Stars

I did A TON of research on convertible infant-toddler car seats before my son outgrew his Graco SnugRide at 4 months. Consumer Reports gave this and another seat the highest safety ratings (this seat had the highest rating of all Britax convertible seats!) I chose this seat because it has EPS side-impact protection under the carseat cover. It's worth the extra money because it's your child's life! Also, it's really easy to tighten and loosen the straps, and the cover is really silky and comfortable. My son falls asleep within minutes of pulling out of the driveway.

My only gripes are that none of the existing toddler pillow neck/head supports fit into the seat, but that may be a problem with the manufacturers of the supports, not Britax. Also, the straps don't have soft covers to keep them from digging into my son's neck. I just bought some soft terrycloth ones from Babies R Us for $4.99. It works.
