Customer Review: A Monstrosity!

This car seat fills a need- for a child bigger than 40 pounds who won't sit in a booster. However, this is the biggest car seat I have ever seen! We call it my son's "throne."
I drive an SUV, and this seat barely fits. It must be positioned behind the driver, because otherwise it obstructs vision and creates a HUGE blind spot. If you are used to Britax seats (all are fairly tall) then this is not too much higher, but it is very broad at the top.
My son thinks it is very comfortable and he has a lot of growing room.

My tall 3 1/2 yr old loves this seat. Her little sister inherited her Britax Marathon (which I also love). This seat is a bit large and heavy, but that is to be expected with a seat designed for older kids.
Complaints:
-The side pockets are nice, but a cup holder would have been even better.
-the stabilizer bar underneath was a BEAR to get in. I had to use a rubber mallet to pound it in.
-pricey - again, to be expected for what you are really getting (safety)
I liked it so much I bought 2 (plus 2 Marathons earlier).

I bought this product after using a Graco booster with 5 point harness six months ago. The Graco seat, which wasn't cheap, was difficult to use and had a bunch of extra useless padding that tore. This Britax seat, while incredibly large, is great and my 3 year old son loves it. He has a small build so I know this will last him a while and it is so easy to use and I feel that he is safer in it. Staying in a 5 point harness is much safer than a normal car seat belt and he's worth it. I plan to buy another when my baby girl is old enough.Customer Review: A carseat or a throne?

I bought this seat after two certified carseat technicians told me how great it was to have the 5 pt harness up to 80 lbs. I have a brand new 2008 GMC vehicle and this seat was way too big for it! My child looked like she was sitting on a throne. I had difficulty getting it out of the box it was so enormous. It is huge. I returned it and bought a Britax Marathon that has the 5 pt harness up to 65 lbs instead. I'd recommend trying out the Regent in person in your car and on your child before buying this one for sure.Customer Review: The only one to get

We had initially purchased 2 3 in1 alpha omega elite. We were happy with them. However, after 2 years i stumbled upon some info that stated you HAD to use it as a bel positioning booster at 40lbs. While this is considered legal, i just cannot imagine that a child wouldn't be thrown out with just a seat belt i ncase of a major crash. The regent is the one car seat (if you did not start with a roundabout) that can be used as a 5 point harness until 80lb. yes it's more expensive but isn't your child worth it?
