Customer Review: Britax is the Best Investment

I highly recommend Britax carseats. My brother introduced us to Britax when I was still pregnant and at the time, thought that all carseats are created equal. NOT! We first used Graco and Evenflo seats and saw that our young son was constantly sweating and breaking out in rashes everytime after he was in the carseats. And yes, he HATED them, but we thought that was normal. Don't you love it when you realize that there IS a solution to a problem? We took my brother's advice and switched to the Britax Roundabout and Marathon. Our little guy never broke a sweat in his carseats again. To see the joy on his face and know that he is sitting in comfort and safety, is priceless. It seems that Britax uses quality material and you can see/feel the difference.
I highly recommend Britax as a smart investment for all parents. Plus, I love opening the box and not having to assemble anything! It literally comes right out of the box and ready to go! Who said that you can't have safety AND comfort? Britax is worth every penny. And yes, now I know why my brother describes Britax as THE MERCEDES OF CARSEATS! I'd love to see Britax expand their stroller market and keep the same quality philosophy in mind.

We have four kids under 6...and have two in Marathons right now. We just bumped the oldest up to a booster at almost age 6 because her head was almost hitting the ceiling of our van when in the Marathon. We bought two Evenflo Triumphs and two Alpha Omegas before finally getting the Marathons. My husband and I liked the Triumphs okay, but it could be difficult getting the straps adjusted properly and relatives had a hard time understanding the straps at all. The AO's are okay, though the puzzle buckle can be a pain, and the straps do occasionally twist. We still use the AO's as our rear-facing option because the Marathons just don't fit properly in our van when rear-facing.
But the Marathons are far and away our favorites. I'm extremely picky about car seats. The Marathons are very easy to install, even for relatives who don't do it often. They straps have never twisted...not in 4 years of owning the first one. And best of all - we've been able to teach our nearly 5 year old how to strap herself in. (She couldn't do the puzzle buckle herself in the AO.)
If we needed to replace car seats, we would buy another and quickly. They are absolutely worth the money, just for ease of installation and non-twisting straps.

Very happy with this carseat. It is easy to install, we still have it rear-facing for our 11-month old son. It is solidly built, I feel safe with him in it. Another important thing: Comfort. Most seats, it seems, have just a thin layer of padding atop the hard molding of the seat. This seat, however, is nice and plush.
When we had this seat checked by our local carseat technician at the firestation he said not to use the tether system until we turn the seat around, the Britax website says you can use the tether rear-facing but we see no point, plus there are no anchors in that position in my car.
One negative is the first couple of weeks , we had our son in the seat with the straps in the lowest position and to tighten him in, while pulling on the front tightener, the metal mechanism under the seat was catching on the molding thus preventing us from tightening as much as needed. But the fireman said to loosen the straps and re-tighten. When he gets a little bigger and graduates to the next level strap height, that will not be an issue. Even now after about a month of use, it is not an issue.
Other than that, our son is very happy in his new 'big boy seat'. I would purchase this seat again if I needed to.

I just wanted to aknowledge a great customer experience. Everyone knows that Britax makes excellent products, and the Marathon is no exception. The only real problem is with the price, Marathons are expensive. So when I had an opportunity to get the Marathon at a great clearance price of $80 off, I jumped on the opportunity and placed my order.
Then a week or so later I get the letter saying that my car seat was no longer available, and that my order would be cancelled. Anger turned to surprise when a week later I received another email that stated I would could buy the similar Onyx style for the same price. That is great customer service. You would think a big online retailer would just blow you off, but they didn't.
If I can point to any flaw on the Britax, I would just reccommend that they consider a more micro fiber style fabric for the car seat like I have on my Evenflo Triumph. IT feels a bit more luxurious. But, the seat is very comfortable for my son, and easy to install.
Customer Review: Fits in my Civic

The thing I was most worried about was whether or not the seat would fit in my civic. (It's a 2002) It works just great! We have plenty of room where before (with her chicco carseat) we were pretty tight. We have the marathon seat sitting forward. I didn't ever put it backward since she's one now and over the weight limit. So, just for the record, it does fit well in a Civic! No problems there. I also love the velcro on the straps that makes it so I dont have to sit her on the straps and then fish them out from behind her. They just stick to the sides and ta-da, easy to get her in every time. Great product, I'd recommend it.
Also, I wish I had bought two when they had the two for twins deal going on. For now we would have just kept one in my car and one in my husbands. We plan on having more children and this seat fits up to 4 year olds... so that would have been a good investment. oh well. I'll just buy another one in a few years probably.
