Baby Products Reviews of Britax Boulevard Convertible Car Seat in Regal

Customer Review: Amazing Amazing Amazing
Summary: 5 Stars

We first purchased Britaxs in 2007 after a few friends made recommendations.
I'll tell you the one downside first because it is short and the good sides are many more.

Bad: It is HUGE! This carseat is definitely not one you want to be transferring to other cars or carrying around. It is heavy and very bulky.

Good: They are built tough.
When installed properly they don't budge, surprisingly they are easy to install if you know how to do it.
They rear face comfortably for a long time (I believe 45 lbs). We've had two kids rear facing in them well into 3 years old.
They last for 6 years before expiring.
They are comfy. My boys have never complained about not being comfortable or being able to see out of the windows.
Easy to adjust belts and get that super important snug fit.

Customer Review: Excellent, solid car seat
Summary: 5 Stars

I am very impressed with the Britax Boulevard car seat. I purchased this seat after reading the Wall Street Journal article on seats with side impact protection. The build quality on the Boulevard is extremely high. The materials all feel first-rate and well-built -- much more so than on the infant car seat which it replaces for our family. It is possible (and easy) to secure this seat extremely tightly to our 2003 Toyota Corolla using the LATCH system so that there is almost no wiggle at all in the connections. We have a relatively small car, but this car seat fits in the Corolla without difficulty. Finally, some shoppers may appreciate knowing that this high-quality product is manufactured in the USA (Charlotte, NC) not in China. (Maybe this is why the manual is so much easier to read than was the one for our previous seat.)

Customer Review: Trouble tightening straps
Summary: 2 Stars

We had the Britax Roundabout for my son which was an incredible carseat. I swore I would always buy a Britax after that. Since my son just outgrew his seat, we purchased the Britax Boulevard. We have had so much trouble tightening the straps. Once we buckle him in, we pull the strap as much as we can and there is still a lot of give. It just isn't safe. It has been such an ordeal every time we use it. Have any other parents had this issue or do I have a defective seat? Also, as some of the other parents wrote, the bottom buckle does not click and never has. My biggest gripe with Britax is every time I have called them, they have been rude and completely unhelpful. After spending $200-300 on a seat, one would expect customer service to be a little better. I will definitely look for another brand of seat next time.

Customer Review: Well worth the price.
Summary: 5 Stars

We have this car seat and an Evenflo Triumph. This was twice the price of the Evenflo, but is sooo much easier to use. Adjustments are simple and it's a snap to install. The belts and the seat padding on the Britax have a more substantial feel to them, and the belts don't tangle as often. We're always fighting with the belts on the Evenflo, but the Britax belts rarely tangle. This may sound petty, but a tangled belt doesn't offer good protection in a crash. My son has used this seat since he was 8 months old and the head wings don't bother him either. As a matter of fact, it gives him a place to rest his head when he falls asleep in the car. Lastly, if you have an older car without LATCH, then a Britax is definitely the way to go. The lock-offs insure the seat will not move more than an inch.

Customer Review: Problems with the bottom latch
Summary: 3 Stars

This car seat got excellent reviews and high safety ratings, which is why we purchased it. However, I've had continual problems with the bottom belt fastner for the hips. It's hard to get the clips in securely and there have been times even when I thought that it was latched and I heard it click that I have stopped to take my son out and one of the latches has popped out. Therefore, this car seat doesn't feel very safe to me because I simply can't get the latches to stay latched. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem or not. I would definitely not spend the kind of money we did again on a Britax. There are other car seats out there with the same safety ratings and are probably safer for my child!
