Customer Review: Not worth the extra $
Summary: 2 Stars
I wouldn't recommend spending the extra money on this car seat even though it has a fantastic safety rating and is recommended by Consumer Reports. It worked alright for the first few months when we first put our daughter in it (she was about 10 months) however the past 6 months it hasn't lived up to expectations. The click safe feature is useless, it clicks almost as soon as I begin to tighten the straps and there is no way she is secure; there is over 3 inches of slack. Also, trying to tighten the straps is difficult, like there is a mechanism that got tightened and has never loosened up. It takes all my effort to pull the strap and get it tightened enough that she is safely strapped in. My last complaint is that the seat seems narrow, which I know keeps her safe but now that she has to wear a coat she seems stuffed in to the seat and it can't be made wider. The only plus side is that it gives great head support so her head doesn't slump all the way to the side when she falls asleep. I just bought another Evenflo Triumph LX (my husband has one in his vehicle) to replace this seat and it is so much nicer and safer. It is actually rated higher than the Britax by Consumer Reports.
