I didn't purchase a bumper until my son turned six months and started rolling around in his crib and getting his arms and legs stuck between the bars.
I decided on this one and it's perfect! I can put him in his crib and not worry about anything because the fabric is breathable.
If he happens to wind up face-up against the side of the crib (as he often does), he isn't suffocating himself. This is really a good idea.
It's easy to install and doesn't have to be removed when changing sheets. It's a very good investment.

This item is a real blessing when young kids get to the age where they start rolling over. Our son started to roll and he would get his legs caught in the crib rails - this took care of the issue. It is better than a crib pad because it is tough for kids (as they get older) to stand on (it collapses down pretty easily) and it has a mesh weave that makes it breathable. Very easy to install (it took 5 minutes) without any tools. This is one of those simple, cheap items that pays for itself with better sleep and piece of mind.Customer Review: Does NOT fit all cribs

I purchased 2 of these bumpers when my twins were born. They were labeled SLIGHTLY differently. This one said, "Fits All Cribs," while my other one said "Fits Slatted Cribs." This one was WAY too small to fit around my standard Graco crib. The other was a perfect fit. Needless to say, I had to return this one. However, I can sleep a little easier at night knowing that if my little guys roll over (which they do quite often) they won't suffocate. They are very soft and well made as well as easy to install.Customer Review: Great Product

We were looking for something that would help keep our baby from getting his arms and legs stuck between the crib slats. The problem with regular crib bumpers is the suffocation risk. This product is exactly what we needed. We bought one of those crib tent things but returned it almost immediately. This item is good b/c it's definitely breathable, it darkens the crib area a bit which is good and definitely, the baby won't be able to step on it to prop himself up. The only negative I will say is that it's not aesthetically pleasing because there is so much extra fabric, you have to fold over a lot of it and there isn't enough velcro to stick all of the fabric.
