Baby Products Reviews of Born Free Trainer Cup, Colors May VaryCustomer Review: my kiddo loves these Summary: 5 Stars
These are the sippy cup of choice in our household because:
* it's truly spill proof
* parts are interchangeable with the other born free baby bottles
* soft spout is chew friendly, and if it gets too torn apart...
* spout is replaceable
Too bad i couldn't choice a color, because of course i received the one color i was hoping not to get (pink). But i got over it pretty quickly and i'm pretty sure my son doesn't care.
And just to clarify, since there seems to be much confusion among some of the reviewers- I am referring to the TRAINING cup with the soft spout (which i highly recommend), not the DRINKING cup which looks the same but has a hard spout.
Customer Review: LEAK! Summary: 1 Stars
Yes, I bought the training cups and not the drinking cups. I have correctly fitted all parts together and these cups still leak! I must be looking for an elusive cup that doesn't seem to exist. A sippy cup that won't leak milk onto my carpet. If your child drops his/her sippy cup the contents will dripple onto your floor--if you're okay with this then by all means buy these. I hated them. I cannot chase my daughter around with a carpet cleaner everytime she drinks from her cup. Yes, I have also just made her sit at her high chair and drink it but at the end of the meal there was more milk on the floor and high chair than in her mouth. Waste of money!
Customer Review: excellent cup Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great sippy cup. We first tried Avent and Dr. Brown's. Dr. Brown's worked well for my son, but the plastic on the spout started to disintegrate and when I noticed it around his mouth after drinking, I threw
it away. My son is now 19 months old and he drinks out of these cups better than any other. They were also great when he first started drinking out of a cup. The liquid does leak out of the spout a little when turned upside down. My son early on figured out how to press the spout onto a surface and get a lot of liquid out. Even though he gains great pleasure out of this messy trick, I highly recommend this cup.
Customer Review: Good transition sippy cup, but probably not for older babies Summary: 4 Stars
This was a great transition cup because of the big nipple-like spout, easy flow, and handles. This cup is not leak free, will dribble out a little, even when new.
The most negative thing about this product is all the parts. It has seven (7) pieces (the cup, the collar, the nipple, the silicone insert, the plastic insert, the handles, and the cap). It's a bit much if you ask me. We started my son on this when he was 9 months, but at 13 months he can use other sippies now that aren't such a production to clean and put together. That being said, the Born Free cup did serve its purpose by training him off the bottle.
Customer Review: great cup Summary: 5 Stars
I love this Born Free training cup. The spout is nice and soft and my 6 month old loves it! I bought it when she was teething and put some ice water in it. When she chews on the rubber spout, cool water drips into her mouth and seems to provide some relief and distraction. She does manage to get the water all over herself, but for summertime, it's an added form of fun. So far she is learning that she has to put the spout end in her mouth, and that she has to tip the cup; she's also getting used to swallowing the liquid when it comes out into her mouth. All in all this cup has been great fun for her and something new to learn.
