Baby Products Reviews of Born Free Drinking Cup, Colors May VaryCustomer Review: Born Free Sippy Cup Summary: 5 Stars
This product is made without BPA which is a horrible thing found is SO MANY of the baby bottles and other plastics. I searched for a long time and found a few companies that care what you give your child, Born Free is one of those companies.
Our daughter LOVES her sippy cup. She also has the drinking cup, but still makes a bit of a mess with that one. The sippy is great. She struggled with gas before and now she does fine, the Born Free bottles, cups, etc have this filter type thing that helps prevent gas, it really seems to work for our daughter. I would recommend this product to anyone!
Customer Review: BPA Free but a BAD DESIGN and WASTE OF MONEY Summary: 1 Stars
Like: 1) Removable handles, 2) BPA Free
Dislike: 1) Ridiculously expensive, 2) Fidgety extra parts that do nothing except require cleaning and slow you down when you try to fill it. 3) LEAKS! - No valve except the hole in the cup spout. 4) No valve except in the cup spout. Our daughter chewed on one and the hole got a LOT bigger and leaks like crazy now - you can buy replacements for $7 for a pair.
My wife bought a bunch of these and matching bottles in the big BPA scare last year. Now there are MANY better and much cheaper options. I recommend anyone investigate those first.
Customer Review: Very pleased Summary: 4 Stars
I have owned my sippys for about a year now and just love them. We first used them to transition from the bottle which was plain easy with the soft spouts. The handles made it easy for my son to hold and the lids helped me not have a wet diaper bag.
We have washed all parts in the dishwasher many, many, many times and not one piece has failed. Yes, the top drips a little. But it was worth it for my piece of mind to switch to a non-BPA sippy. In truth, in my 6 years of parenting, I have found only 2 that have not leaked.
I recommend these for piece of mind.
Customer Review: I WON'T BE BUYING BORN-FREE PRODUCTS AGAIN Summary: 1 Stars
I just want to add my voice to the chorus of disgruntled consumers here.
I, too, feel totally ripped off for paying (a lot) for a "sippy cup" that leaks all over my baby's clothes, and wherever she happens to be, the moment she picks it up. I used to like Born-Free, and I put their items on my Amazon baby registry, but from now on, I will avoid their products.
I'm not even going to bother with trying to get my money back. Judging by others' experiences described here, it would just be another exercise in frustration that I can do without.
Customer Review: Great cups but beware of "colors may vary" Summary: 4 Stars
I've been using these for a while and they are great. I needed 2 more and ordered them here. I understood that the "colors may vary" but I didn't expect to get two hot pink cups with hot pink spouts and hot pink handles. I have a son. I don't care at all about blue for boys/pink for girls but my husband doesn't want to him to use the cups outside of the house. I assumed the colors that might "vary" would be gender neutral, like yellow, or that at least one of the cups would be. So if you really care about what color you get, don't order them here.
