I purchased this item in hopes that it would help my daughter with avoiding the flat spot on the back of her head. Well, it happened anyway despite using this device everywhere. Her pediatrician said that some babies are prone to getting the flat spot, no matter what preventative measures are taken. Amazon delivered it quickly though and the price could not be beat.This item is well made and can stand up to wear and tear and many washings. This was the only place that I could even find this thing. Babies R Us had a velvet version, but I don't think that material is baby spit-up friendly.Customer Review: JUST A LITTLE HELP

I bought this Boppy Noggin Nest Head Support - Denim, because I first saw a similar item in Pottery Barn Kids, which is like $ 24 made of plush.
This one from Boppy has a good price and it's 100 % cotton !!
But if you observe it a little bit better, it's not a great help to prevent the flat head, because the big part is the round part above the head - like thousands of other baby head support products - and the really needed part where makes support on the neck is VERY FLAT AND SMALL.
I could have been much better if the part on the neck were better done.

I bought this product because my daughter was forming a flat spot on the back of her head due to being premature and extensive medical treatment. We traveled in the car quite a bit so I thought this may help the situation at least while she was in her car seat. I also thought this could be used in her swing. Use in the swing was fine. Use in the car seat caused a potentially dangerous situation as the 'nest' lifted her head quite a bit and provided nearly no side impact protection. I found myself adding rolled towels to each side of her head to give her the protection she needed.Customer Review: you canot use it for when baby sleeps

I'm sure people are buying this product thinking it's great to prevent your baby from getting a flat head. But if you read the fine print on the product when you actually get it, it says that you shouldn't use it except for when maybe is semi upright (like strollers).
Also, I've noticed that the base of DD's skull is now more raised compared to the rest of her head. My theory is that because the hole is small, she tends to actually smash her head on the bottom of the boppy and so as the skull grows, it gets pushed out.
oh well.

This has helped my Now 13 week old son. About 6 weeks ago the doctor noticed he was starting to get a flat head in the back. He doesn't like sleeping on his sides so we knew eventually he would have a problem with flat head. I bought 2 of these boppy noggin nest, one for his crib and one for the carseat. I have now started to notice a differece! It is a good preventative. If your baby has a flat head already (like mine) it may take a few months before it goes back to normal. I have been told once they start crawling you will see a big difference! Hope this helps you!!!
