Customer Review: If Your Baby Will Stay On It
Summary: 3 Stars

Our baby's head started to get flat on the boppy about a month or so ago, and I found this, decided to try it as soon as we could get it. However, our daughter is really jumpy and active, and she just wont stay still on it when it is sitting free. She keeps sliding down off it, so it defeats the purpose of her sleeping or playing on it. It does work a lot better using it with things you can attach it to, like her glider and especially her car seat.

Our baby doesn't like tummy time flat on her belly, only when resting on our chests and looking around, so I've been trying to keep alternating her head to the side when she lays down, but it doesn't seem to make a difference for her flat head. It doesn't look horrible and my husband says she will grow hair over her head anyway, but I want her head to fuse in a nice and comfortable position, so I will keep trying to gently mold it and keep pressure off it. Hopefully when she is a couple months older she will sit up and be okay.

Customer Review: Protection against flat head
Summary: 5 Stars

I don't own this yet, but am going to get one. To the reviewer who said it is a waste of money, you wouldn't say that if you had a child who suffered from it. All babies are different, and for some reason, some babies are more susceptible to flat head than others. When my oldest son was a baby, he had colic really bad. The only time I could get him to sleep was when I put him in his carseat. After time, his poor little head flattened in the back. It never corrected itself, and now, my 11 year old son has a wider and rounder face because of this. Because when the back of the head is flattened, it widens the front of the head, and makes the face wider and rounder. We have a new baby, and I don't have a problem getting him to sleep in his bassinet, but I am going to purchase this for the swing and the carseat. I don't think he will ever be in either one long enough to cause flat head, but I'm not taking any chances.

Customer Review: Many Uses . . .
Summary: 4 Stars

I must admit that I didn't use this too much because I had so many things after my daughter was born. What it was nice for was the stroller or car seat when she napped . . . instead of rolling up blankets and such. Apparently, and a fireman told me this, you're not supposed to have anything situated between your baby and the car seat because it voids the warranty on the car seat if you get in a crash . . . something like that.

I also liked to use this when I put her on the floor for diaper changes so her little head would be more comfy. Obviously, the biggest benefit from using this, for most people, is to prevent flattening of the head. I will say that I've heard, personally, many success stories in using this to prevent or even correct that problem. So, for that, if your kid is especially prone to it, I'd say it's a good buy. Just don't use it in the crib . . . but you already knew that.

Customer Review: Beware of this product
Summary: 1 Stars

My son is 11 weeks old now. Like many other back-sleeping babies he started to develop a flat head from being on his back all the time. I tried to reposition him, but did not see any improvement, he would just go back to his favorite position - head tilted to the left. So, I went on line and started the research. Many parents seemed to like this product and said that they had great results. I tried it. Let me tell you, it only got worse. Not only he maintains his flat spot, but I noticed the grove at the bottom of his scull from the hard part of the Noggin Nest. It is round and follows the contour of the bottom part of the Nest. His head is now completely messed up. I am going to the doctor on Monday for advice, but to those who consider this product... beware if your child's head is big and does not snugly fit into the hole. You may end up with more problems than you bargained for.

Customer Review: Not a waste of money
Summary: 4 Stars

I felt compelled to respond to the review by Anonymous from Ft. Worth (below). Babies getting a flat head is not so easily avoided by repositioning in the crib. I knew about plagiocephaly (flattening of the head)so I had been repositioning my baby since birth. Nevertheless, we noticed his head getting flat at 3 mos. At that time, we bought this product from Pottery Barn Kids, but because you are not supposed to let the baby sleep on it, we only used it when he was in his bouncy or car seats (not too often). It seems like a great product, and we will continue to use it, but I don't think this product alone will help. If your baby is on his back for 12+ hours a day in his crib, he may develop plagiocephaly (flattening of the head),anyway. If your baby's head seems flat, there are other things that you can do, and there is lots of information about it on the internet.
