I registered for a Boppy when I was pregnant with my first son ... but I was quite disappointed when it actually came time to use it. It just didn't feel wide enough or supportive enough for my taste, and as a tall person (I'm 5'10"), it just didn't get my baby close enough to me to make it completely comfortable to nurse.
In addition, the covers aren't waterproof, and as any nursing mom knows, you WILL leak ... or your kid will drool or spit up milk all over! After I washed my Boppy (according to the manufacturer's instructions), it was never the same ... it felt lumpy.
That was pretty much the end of the Boppy -- it's sitting in a closet somewhere. For my next baby, I'm going to try the My Brest Friend and see if that's an improvement.

I had a boppy for my first and second child and each time I got a new one and each time they ended up flattening out quite rapidly. I agree with another that said the covers are nothing but aesthetic as they do not prevent stains and smells from seeping through.

Sure it's a little more pricey, but you're getting organic buckwheat hulls fill and organic cotton covering, which is really sturdy. You still have somewhat of the leak-through, but much less because the cover is textured and even when there is, the buckwheat hulls dry out quickly and don't retain smells. I love that it conforms to your body too. I've used it during my pregnancy and it's wonderful.

This is an amazing pillow!!! I got it to nurse my son and he still uses it for that, but he also used it to help him learn to sit up. It protected him from those unexpected tilts that he couldn't recover from (no head bonking with the pillow). A friend of mine gave hers away because she couldn't breast feed, and now she is off to buy a new one so that her daughter can have the same protection in sitting up. Even my husband uses this pillow to chill out on the sofa! My son will probably do the same when he gets a little older. Our friends little boy is three and he uses it as a pillow to lay down for a nap (the perfect amount for his head and the perfect amount for him to hold on to and cuddle). Super great pillow, couldn't ask for anything better!!!Customer Review: Great for more than just baby!

When my sister got her boppy it was wonderful, and the listed uses had it functioning wonderfully. But my review is about my experience with it. My mother and I both have Fibromyalgia, but often have to make long car trips that result in us both being in a lot of pain. One day on a hunch, my mother tried using the boppy as a support cushion.. It was amazing! And for me, it was a lot more suited to my shape and size than the round cushions they sell for posture support. So long after the baby is up crawling around, the Boppy can be a useful tool for stressed or hurting mommy or other family member! Even if it isn't for your taste for nursing, don't throw it out- try it as a support- either sitting on, leaning back on, or bracing your neck- first!!!Customer Review: It's helpful

For the most part the boppy has been pretty helpful. It's really great for breastfeeding, it helps me support my son so my arms don't get tired and so I don't have to bend down quite as far to feed him. He fits well on it and I can still position him in different ways. The only thing I'm really disappointed with is that within 4 weeks of using it the seem has already come unsown about 4 inches at least it's at a place I can easily hand sow it together but it's really annoying that I have to do that, it should hold up a lot longer than 4 weeks. I haven't fixed it yet only because I have a cover that keeps it contained while it's on, but I'll have to sow it up soon so it stays together longer. I hope it doesn't fall apart anymore.
