Baby Products Reviews of Boppy Bare Naked PillowCustomer Review: Short Lived-better products out there Summary: 1 Stars
When this was first out, you needed it as you didnt have other options, now you do. Boppy's are small, low which causes mommy upper back/neck issues and its use is very short lived. Plus if you have any chest at all they are not that practical. We researched them after I had a boppy for a week, because I hated them, I thought they were outdated for nursing moms/bottle moms and moms in general. We ended up getting the Natural Boost Adjustable Nursing Pillow by Leachco, which was FANTASTIC! My son is now 2yrs old and we STILL can use it for so many things! It lets you adjust the height! Yep, wether you are tall or short, thin or larger it fits because it isnt meant to go around you, its meant to bring baby to a comfy position for mommy AND baby. It has a bolster pillow that is also velcro'd on and you can flip it to either side, or move it under you or you can take it off. This was a lifesaver for breast feeding, bottle feeding, reading books or just holding eachother while they are studying mommy (or daddy's) face. I have heard bad comments because it doesnt have a cover-so what, I throw it in with my darks and its been fine. Plus even with a cover babys spit up and you have to wash the covers and I would still wash the pillow-yuck otherwise. I wash it 1X a week and for 2yrs there is no rips, tears or anything. Because you can put the baby higher leaning, it takes away a bunch of gas in the tummy and spitting up since you shouldnt have a baby flat to begin with. Yes we used the boppy for things like holding sitting baby up, using it for a tummy time holder, but that was it. I just wish they came in more colors!Leachco Natural Boost - Adjustable Nursing Pillow - Denim
Customer Review: My favourite item for baby Summary: 5 Stars
This pillow has been a life saver for me. I have been using it every single day since I purchased it for myself and my baby.
I use this pillow for the following:
1. For feeding my LO
2. For napping on my lap, since my baby loves to feel the warmth from my body. (this is becoming a habit that is hard to break out of, but it is so cute to watch LO napping, forget about the dishes in the sink LOL.... )
3. For tummy time
4. For lounging... which sometimes end up as nap-time because it is so comfortable for LO
I take it on all my long trips. I can genuinely say I cannot do without it. I bought the "bare naked" version and was sorry I hadn't gotten a slip cover the same time. I make up for the slip cover by placing receiving blankets on it whenever I use it. This is good for me because I can wash the receiving blankets every other day since my LO drools a lot on it during tummy time. I plan to actually make a slip cover when I find some time to do so.
I also plan to get another for the grandparents house because I have to travel with it whenever I know I will have to feed, e.g. on long trips or for over-nighting. It is used not only for breast feeding but my DH uses it as well for bottle feeding. I have used it once or twice as a neck pillow for myself as well LOL.
After a c-section and weak wrists from pregnancy induced carpal tunnel and a baby that was heavier than the average at birth and continues to be above average at all stages... this pillow was a blessing to own.
I have to say I would recommend this to any mom.
Customer Review: For more than just nursing Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my wife and if I was just rating it as a nursing aid I'd probably give it 3 or 4 stars, but for us at least it really shined as our baby got older. Katie hates being fenced in and has a pretty strong reaction to being put in the playpen (or the baby cage as we like to call it). So the best solution for us is to lay down a comforter on the living room floor where we can watch her and set her propped up inside the boppy, it provides neck support and she reallly seems to love the thing, now that she's able to hold the bottle she likes to kick back on her little boppy sofa and just relax. She's even started to fall asleep on her stomach (now that she's old enough to do so safely) draped over the boppy, which I personally love because she's comfortable and it keeps her face up off the floor so I don't worry about her having trouble breathing. Honestly at 9 months this product is a lot more useful to us than it ever was 1 month. And since it's a pretty large I'm sure she'll be using it for years to come, heck, I use the thing for naps now and then.
Good product, you won't regret it, and the removable covers make it that much easier to clean ( we did wrap the boppy under the removable cover with a changing pad back when she was spitting up often and that helped us to not have to wash the actual pillow too often)
Customer Review: Best Baby Product I Own Summary: 5 Stars
Hands down, the most indispensable baby product I bought when I had my baby. We had trouble at first with breast-feeding, and the boppy was a godsend. It made a huge difference by helping me be comfortable and giving me both hands free. In addition to breast-feeding comfort, it was useful for more comfortably holding a sleeping baby for a long period of time (my daughter was very colicky as a young baby and would not sleep unless someone was holding her). Once the baby was asleep on the boppy after nursing, I could carefully transfer the boppy/baby pair to my husband's lap so I could have a break. We also used it to prop her up as she got bigger, sitting her in the middle of the C with soft supports all around her. It went all over the house with us, always within reach, and on every trip we took. On one trip, it accidentally go left behind and when I realized it was missing as we got on the airplane, I nearly cried. We had to go buy a replacement on the way home from the airport, as I could not stand to go another hour without my boppy! The boppy and the covers washed well. I would highly recommend buying two covers so you always have one ready when the other is in the wash due to spit-up etc (which, trust me, happens regularly). I have bought several for gifts and recommend this product whole-heartedly!
Customer Review: Not a must have, but a nice to have. Great shower gift!!! Summary: 4 Stars
I got the boppy for breast feeding. A lot of mothers told me it was really helpful and while I can see that it would be I only used it once or twice while nursing. It was just a pain in the butt to be carrying another thing around during those first few weeks. That is just me though. I can see people loving this for nursing. However, if you are like me, don't despair if you have a boppy and are not using it. Don't throw it in a closet quite yet. There are SO MANY uses for this thing. I used it for a pillow several times and as an aid to prop baby up next to me when they had gas. Several of my friends used it for tummy time. These are all nice uses but I knew I had hit gold with this thing when it was time for baby to sit up on their own. My son would sit up very well but every now and then he would fall backwards. I placed this behind him and I never had to worry about him hitting his head. I could sit him up and drink some water, play with him and his toys, all the while not worrying about him falling all about.
You may not 'need' this, but it is a nice thing to have and and use for all sorts of purposes. It can be another set of hands. On your baby registry is a perfect way to get this pillow with out feeling guilty for dropping coin on something you may or may not use.
