Baby Products Reviews of Boon Squirt Baby Food Dispensing Spoon in OrangeCustomer Review: love it!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I love this product!! My son 5mo has been refusing to eat from any baby spoon, only my finger. As soon as I got this in the mail I opened it and tried it out. My son adores it. He ate every bite. It was so simple to use, and gave me a free hand, instead of having to hold a bowl. It was bigger than I expected, but not a problem. Also, the bowl portion of the spoon is a little deep for tiny mouths just learning how to eat. All is all though this is a fantastic product I am going to buy more so I can serve more than one option at a time. This is going to into all my friends baby shower presents!
Customer Review: Great for travel once you get the hang of it Summary: 4 Stars
I love this spoon. I wouldn't use it everyday for regular feedings because it's a little strange. My baby (6 months) can't get all the food off in one shot and it seems the spoon is shaped a little weird (too big, hard plastic), but it is great when we're out and about. I just used it at an amusement park and it was great! I filled two up (one with a veggie, one with a fruit) and took it out at the park. No fuss, no muss!
You have to jiggle the food down to squeeze it out and sometimes it splatters out when you squeeze it. It is a great product though once you get the hang of it.
Customer Review: Ingenious Summary: 5 Stars
I'll be surprised if this product doesn't catch on more.
It's convenient, practical, and honestly a very smart investment.
Instead of wasting an entire can of baby food due to contamination, you can just put the remainder back into the fridge. Dispensed onto the spoon, the contents of it never touch the baby's mouth, and therefore don't have to be thrown away.
Honestly, it is $8 better than well spent.
For those unhappy with the BPA, it appears the new models are BPA free, as the one that I have and the ones I've seen in Target are all labeled as such.
Customer Review: Great Idea, but... Summary: 4 Stars
It is a bit bulky in order to hold a full jar of baby food (4-5 oz). The squirting works very well, especially for liquid-y food. However, the rather deep spoon is very close to the tank, and in order to completely empty the spoon my baby had to bump his nose right into the tank. I don't know any solution to this problem, since a longer 'neck' would also mean a hard-to-clean food pipeline running through (right now there's a simple hole between tank and spoon).
I was enthusiastic when i saw the product the first time, but used it less than expected on a daily basis.
Customer Review: Horrible for feeders who like to take control Summary: 2 Stars
My daughter is one of those feeders who is easily distracted and loves to gum the spoon, "feed" herself, or play with her food. The deep concave design of the spoon makes is difficult, rather, impossible for her to scrape the food off of the spoon, so she only gets what lies above the spoon line. Because the spoon is so hard, she also can't gum it.
I also think that she is a little scared of how large the spoon is...kinda of a massive thing to put in front of a baby's face. Lastly, she loves to try to feed herself, and the Boon is simply too big for her to handle.
