Baby Products Reviews of Boon Flo Water Deflector, Faucet Cover With Bubble Bath Dispenser Kiwi

Customer Review: MOLD!!!!
Summary: 4 Stars

Like most other reviewers, I found that this cover did not fit all faucets. It fit in my home just fine, though it was a little loose, and my daughter easily pulled it off. But it didn't fit over the faucet at my parents home, and it is not a particularly large faucet. That's only a 50% batting average for me.

But when it does fit, it provides a beautiful cascade of water which my husband, myself, and my daughter loves. And you can leave it on at all times, rather than other protective faucet covers which must be removed for filling the tub and placed back on. And because of the unusual shape, my daughter thrilled in pulling it off the faucet and bringing it into the living room to play with for the first few weeks we had it.

I love the concept of the bubble bath dispenser, but our pediatrician has strongly advised against bubble baths for girls as the soap dries out the skin and has been known to cause urinary tract infections or skin irritations in the genital areas. Just a tip for any other parents of little girls out there.

UPDATE 4 MONTHS LATER: Steer clear of this product. I regret that Amazon does not let me edit the original star rating, but this does not deserve any more than one star. How can a product that is DESIGNED to get wet not be mold-resistant? I had this sitting on my faucet for the last few months, I took it off one day on a whim and there is black mold growing inside. I dumped it in a bucket of bleach solution and used a grout scrubber to try to get it off to no avail. And it doesn't even come apart, so even if the scrubbing helped, I couldn't get into all sorts of crevices. These ppl need to go back to product research.

Customer Review: Pros and Cons
Summary: 2 Stars

I liked this faucet cover, but I recently had to throw it away. For a disposable product, I think it is overpriced.
CONS:
-This spout cover it IMPOSSIBLE to clean. I even tried putting it in the dishwasher and it came out looking just as gross as it went in. Disgusting mold grows in every crack and crevice and it won't come off.
-The "soap dispenser" is pathetic. It never worked quite right, I thought it was unnecessary (really, how hard is it to dump in some bubble bath?) and it leaked. I was not that disturbed by it until after I quit using it. The flap on the top would come open on it's own and water would get inside and get trapped in there. Then, at bath time, old gross water would leak out on me or my son. Ew.
-While this cover did fit on my faucet (no pull up for the shower) it was very easy for my son to pull off which he frequently delighted in doing. If you want this cover for safety against bumps and bruises, this is not the best feature.
-Overpriced for the frequency with which this item would have to be replaced to keep it clean.

PROS:
-I did like the deflector feature of this spout, which produced a nice "waterfall" effect in our tub and made shampoo rinsing with no cup and clean water easy. My son also liked to play in the waterfall.
-This cover stayed out of the way of the other handles in our tub.

Overall, I would not buy this product again.

Customer Review: Great for Little Ones of all Ages!
Summary: 5 Stars

I originally bought this product to protect my 10 month old son's head from banging against the spout in the bathtub. Ever since he was given free reign of the big tub he has enjoyed crawling around and pulling up along the edges (and consequently banging his head every so often against the water spout). When it arrived I was eager to see how well it would work. It fit very easily onto my large spout and made a nice little waterfall. My son crawled over to the tub, pulled up, and watched the water come down. He started clapping and laughing so I stripped him down and put him in the tub (with the water still running). He loved it! He crawled right over and put his hand under the water fall. He was smiling and laughing. He then decided to put his toys under the fall and laughed as they were quickly pushed away. It was great! Now when he hears the bath running he crawls over, pulls up, and holds his arms up begging to go in. It makes bathtime so much more fun!
We loved it so much we told all of our mommy friends... many of whom have children 3 and 5 years old. It was a big hit with all of them. A few of them had trouble getting their older ones to rinse their hair (too old for mom to pour water with a cup and afraid to dunk their heads backwards in the tub). This product made rinsing fun. I would recommend this product to all moms with babies and young children. It really makes bathtime so much more exciting.

Customer Review: A cool idea and looks cute
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had this item for a little over a month. My daughter is 13 months and just started sitting in the "big people" bathtub a couple of months ago. I was searching for a spout cover, when I came across this item. I thought it was a cool concept, because not only did it cover the spout like I wanted, but it also is a water deflector, for when my daughter is older, and also a bubble bath dispenser.

It fits on my spout perfectly, with room to move it around a little bit. I have the pop up button type of spout. It doesn't fall off and stays put quite well. In my opinion, it deflects the water just fine; you may have to adjust it a little bit to find the right fit. Just turn the water on all the way, manuever it until the water comes out properly, and it's fine.

I haven't used the bubble bath dispenser yet. My daughter is a bit too young for traditional bubble bath, so I usually just squirt a little of the baby wash under the running tap.

Thus far, I have had no problems, I think it's cute, functional, and I love that it matches our Frog Pod (which I also am very happy with and adore...and also have had no problems with).

I am so pleased with these two items, I have jumped ahead and ordered the Boon potty bench. My daughter isn't quite ready for it, but it will look cute in her bathroom, and hopefully she'll take an interest early. :)

Customer Review: Great Concept But Terrible Execution
Summary: 1 Stars

The upside...
I loved my Frog Pod that I got from this company and saw this product on their web site and was really excited about it. And I love the fact that 10% of profits goes to children's charities. I waited 4 months for the Flo to finally come out and ran to the store as soon as they put it on the shelves. The idea was great! The open top was just what I needed for my shower lever.

The down side...
I clipped the Flo to my faucet and filled it with bath bubbles the night before we actually used it. The next night it was empty. All the bubbles had slowly leaked out and gone down the drain.

Well, I thought that's not TOO bad and I will just use bubbles like before. It's still an OK product, I can keep using it. I put my baby in the tub and turned on the water... WATER WENT ALL OVER MY BATHROOM FLOOR! The Flo spread the water so wide that it had gone over the edge of my bathtub. I tried tilting it down and up to see if I got any better results and I did for a minute until the water pressure made it go back to the original position again.

Conclusion...
If I want to continue using the Flo, I cannot make use of the bubble dispenser and I have use the shower curtain to keep myself and my floor dry. All in all, it's not worth it to me. I was really let down by Boon on this one.
