I had purchased this item as a gift for my sister-in-law, and after seeing it at her home had to get one for each of my children. The engraving on the 2 I received was different than the one I purchased for my sister, but I preferred the design I had received anyway. Both boxes were received in perfect condition with no scratches or broken plexi-glass as some reviews have noted. This turned out to be a nice gift but not as nice as the item pictured on the website. The item I received did not have a hinged top, only a slide-out plexi-glass top (undamaged). Also, the tube was engraved with cartoony flowers and other items with the words "Birth Certificate" smaller on the side, not at all as elegant as the picture makes it look. It makes a nice gift as long as the buyer knows what he is getting!Customer Review: ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!

I was very impressed with the quality and appearance. This will be a treasure for years to come! I received this at my baby shower and all of the mothers that attended had a fit over this product...some have since purchased this item! I don't know of any mother that would not keep their child's birth certificate, first curl, and first tooth. I sent this to my brother for the birth of his first baby. I ordered it based on the other reviews I read, and let me tell you, it was a smart move. Although I haven't actually seen it yet, he called me and couldn't say enough about how beautiful it was...he also told me "I shouldn't have spent so much" because it was so well crafted it was "obviously expensive." This item is definitely going to be treasured for years to come. I was plesantly impressed with its quality, price and apprearance. My son's furniture is all cherry wood and this matches perfectly! We've received so many compliments on how lovely it is. Great for a boy or girl, this item would make a wonderful gift or just a little something you would like to purchase for your little one! A+!
