Customer Review: The original Angelcare is much better

I liked the original Angelcare monitor much more than this. The main reason is that it had 2 parents' units and you can put one in the master bedroom and one in the living room. Second, I think this one overcomplicates everything, with temperature and nightlight. I currently try to cover the light of the monitor because it can distract the baby if he opens his eyes when he is sleeping, especially at night. So I don't know if I like the nightlight feature, and the temperature not necessary. Again the temperature can distract the baby, so I would not go with this one. You should make sure it's warm in the room, and that's it.Customer Review: Sleeping a down the hall is priceless

This product may have it flaws(difficult instructions, at least in our case) but it is a lifesaver. Before this little device came to our house, my wife did not trust the baby down the hall, so he was in our room. Now with the sound off we can see our little guy moving the "ticker" along and when he cries out for a little attention we can be there in a flash thanks to the long range of the monitors.
By the way, the temperature reading was kind of a suprise, it always felt chilly in the baby's room, but with this and verification from a traditional thermometer, we know the room stays in the 68-72 range constantly.

I can see why someone might rate this low if they didn't read the directions, but this product rocks. Once you adjust the sensitivity, you will be very pleased. If they were going to improve it, they could make the plate wider. As our baby grew she would move away from the plate causing a false alarm. For those of you who have yet to experience a false alarm... they SUCK! nothing like being woke in the night with the terror your child is not breathing. AGAIN... read the directions! lol
Another improvment would be video. We actually purchased a video unit seperatly and loved our set up with both audio and video.

This is a must for anyone with a new baby. it is easy to set up and allows new parents to hav much needed peace of mind. I wish I had one available back when my children were babies. I bought one for my grand daughter and it has made a huge difference in sleep for mom. This is a great shower gift and is an excellent value for the money. The stations did have some static at first, but changing to a different frequency solved this problem. It is easy to turn off if you forget after removing the baby from the crib because the initial short beep serves as a reminder before the "fire alarm" sound goes off.Customer Review: Much better. . .

I returned my original Angelcare monitor because it was very staticy. The deluxe is much better, but even with the "tick" feature off every time the motion sensor is triggered the parent's unit make a clicking noise. It's far less annoying than the original and with the voice activation feature you won't hear the ticking all night. . . of course the voice activation feature sometimes doesn't pick up the kid until he's at a full scream.
Overall I'd say if you're considering the Angelcare monitor for the motion pad feature don't waste your money on the original, get the deluxe.
