I haven't written a review before, but I felt like I had to on this purchase. Since our son was born, my husband has been overly paranoid that something will happen to him. He would set his alarm every hour to check on his breathing. He got no sleep which added to the stress of having a newborn in the house. When the monitor was delivered, we set it up (easy) and tested it numerous times before putting our son in his bed. It passed every test! Hands down, this monitor is the best purchase! I don't understand why it's not a mandatory item for babies. Since we bought it, we have slept so much better at night. If you are going to buy a monitor, I would skip the regular ones, including the video monitors and buy this one. For a few dollars more, it will give you the peace of mind you need to get a good nights rest.Customer Review: The only way we can sleep after baby stopped breathing...

My 6 wk old granddaughter stopped breathing last Fri. and 911 was called. Turns out she has severe GERD and has to be kept on an incline. The same day we she was discharged from the hospital we bought the 2008 Angel Care Deluxe Monitor Set. I can't say enough about it! It is the only reason that my daughter has got any sleep at all in the last four days. You can set it on a tick sound that you can hear if you are walking around your front room or kitchen so you don't have to constantly check on her to see if she is actually breathing or not. It is so reassuring. My daughter and I were both there when she stopped breathing and it was like she just went to sleep and didn't wake up. Again, I would recommend this for any newborn. We didn't even know my granddaughter had this problem!!!!!!!

After losing two babies and my daughter spending 5 weeks in the NICU....you'd be hard pressed to find a more paranoid mom than me. But so far..I love this monitor! We've only had it for a few days so I don't know of any cons so far, but if I do I'll log back in to re-post my review. This monitor has everything I could hope for - only thing that would make it better is, as someone else mentioned, a video camera. I'm laying on the floor typing this review as the monitor ticks, and I know my itty bitty baby is moving enough to cause it. It's very reassuring, especially if you're any kind of worrier like I am. It's very worth the money for us so far; if I still am this happy with it in another week or to I'm going to buy another one for my baby to have at daycare. I had a 5 mo. old who refused to sleep on his back, no matter how hard you tried. Only wanted to sleep on his stomach. Of course with the concern of SIDS, I was sleeping in the same room with him every night and constantly checking up on him, not to mention not getting very much sleep. This monitor has really helped to change all of that. I've been using it for a month and have yet to have a false alarm that wasn't caused by my own error (FYI- If using with with a pack-n-play bassinette that has a vibrating feature, make sure not to turn on the vibration or monitor will be set off). This product is great. The only way the company could make it any better is by adding a video feature to the monitor. Then it would have it all!Customer Review: Excellent Product!

Movement detector works great. Never had a false alarm even when baby moves to a corner of the crib. We did not have any issues with the ceiling fan as some other customers say. The voice baby monitor also works great, is crystal clear without static. I like the temperature reading, and if you'd like you can program monitor to alert you if baby's rooms gets too hot or too cold. I like how the monitor is programable.My doctor reccomended this product when she reccomended our son sleep on his stomach due to acid reflux. Son sleeps comfortably now, and I feel secure knowing an alarm will beep almost immedietly if he is in danger. The alarm sounds after 20 seconds of no movement, but gives a warning beep after only 10 seconds!
