Customer Review: Amazing peace of mind, and convenient too!

I have used this monitor since birth with my 6 month old son. I can't even express the peace of mind that using this monitor offers. When it's on, I always know he's alive and don't have to succumb to checking him every five minutes. I know that the sensor works, because if I forget to turn off the monitor and take him out of the crib, it goes off within seconds.
My other favorite part of this monitor has nothing to do with the sensor - it is noise-activated. We have a Summer Infant video monitor which is NOT noise activated, and it's very annoying to have the sound on all the time. We barely use that monitor, and when we do it's only for the video. I love the Angelcare monitor because it only makes noise when the baby makes noise.
The monitor has gone off two times in his lifetime. When we got to his room, he was fine. It beeps very loudly when it goes off, so perhaps it woke him up from momentary apnea. But who knows? Maybe he wouldn't have woken.
I can't recommend this product enough. It saves my sanity every day.

We purchased this monitor for our first born 7-2008 and were very dissatisfied. There is not a way to disable to movement sensor even by just unplugging it. I was on the phone with Graco for over 45 minutes and they could not figure it out either.
Main issue with this monitoring is that an alarm sounds on both the receiver end and the baby's end whenever movement is not detected for over 20 seconds. All I can figure is it alarms for baby to make her stir and start moving again. In our case all it did is upset our newborn who we'd just spend 2 hours trying to get to sleep.
Needless to say, without the ability to disable the movement sensor and alarm, this was of no use to us and we returned it for a more basic monitoring system. Parents should know this alarm is unnerving for both you (who might possibly be sleep-deprived) and for baby...
Its a poor design when you don't have the option to turn off features such as the movement sensor. LAME.

We were shopping for a baby monitor for our new baby and came across this movement sensor. The idea sounded good, but we were quite skeptical. However, after reading so many positive reviews we thought we would try it out. We have been using it now for almost three weeks and wow! We have had no false alarms (although one could argue that they are not false alarms). We know its working because at first we would forget to turn off the sensor when we picked our baby up and the alarm would sound. It definitely brings a peace of mind to know that your baby is being watched over and if for some reason stops breathing, an alarm will not only alert you, but most likely startle the baby as well and get them breathing again. The monitor works quite well too. I have no experience with another one to compare it to, but we are happy with it. Also, the temperature is a nice feature as well. Overall, we are very pleased with this purchase and would definitely recommend it to friends.Customer Review: Extremelly dissapointed, waste of money!

I got this monitor because I want it to use it with my newborn. First the plate part is way too hard and if your baby moves even a little, it will sound off the alarm. My baby was never completely still. The manual and instructions are very difficult to figure out. My whole family is college educated and it took several of us to get it to work (independently without the movement sensor). The reception was good and I liked the night light. The 2 walkie talkies use rechargable bateries, which charge on the base. The child unit does not, and it takes 4 AAA, which lasted less than 10 hours!!!!!! (brand new baterries) If you baterries die the alarm goes off and wakes up your child! I was looking for the manufacturers number to call them....to see it is maybe defective. Could not get the manufacturers info or web site anywhere! I'm extremelly dissapointed and feel like I wasted so much money on this thing. This monitor is the best baby product on the market. I am able to sleep soundly because I know the alarm will sound if he stops breathing. All the other features are wonderful too, I am always checking the temperature in his room especially since we have raditor heating and use window airconditioning. My son has set the alarm off twice. The first time he was a month old and I had to give him a little shake to make him breath. I believe the monitor saved his life that night. The second time the alarm in his room made him breath. As long as it is set up properly and the baby keeps a portion of their body over the sensor it works perfectly. I also love that it has voice activation so you don't have to listen to static all the time. This monitor works so well we even travel with it. You will not regret getting this monitor even if you have a false alarm or two, just think about the one time it may not be a false alarm.
