Description of Baby Safe Ink Print Kit - Basic
Take your babys hand or footprints safely from home with these non-toxic, lead and latex free, infant safe ink print kits. Perfect for scrapbooks, photo albums, framing and home-made birth announcements. Unlike inkless print kits or stamp kits these ink plates pick up every fine detail of baby's print - just like the ones the hospitals use. Use more ink for very dark prints and less for lighter prints. Can be used for older children and adults too -- just apply multiply times to cover entire surface of hand or foot. Ink is messy because it's ink, but worth it for great prints and cleanup is easy with a small amount of baby oil and a baby wipe or wash with mild soap and water*. Each kit comes with two ink plates in a resealing bag, 4 blank, white acid-free 8.5 x 5.5 cards for taking prints and detailed instructions with photos to help you take the best prints possible. *For children with less natural oils on their skin, we recommend wiping hand or foot with included natural baby wipe prior to applying ink. Customer Review: This kit is a disaster and a waste of money!

There is absolutely no reason to spend money on this kit when you can get the same messy results by purchasing an ink pad for a couple of dollars from a discount store. I was looking for an actual baby footprint kit where the baby's foot doesn't get any ink on it, like we received from the hospital for our other children. I couldn't find that, but the description for this product made it sound like the ink would come off easily. The wipe provided with the kit was a joke. To get the ink off, we used about 15 of our own baby wipes. When that didn't work, we put our baby in the tub. Soap and water didn't work, so I tried rubbing alcohol. That didn't work either. After a half-hour in the tub and much trauma and crying by everyone, I finally got it off with some Fels-Naptha soap. The ink also got on everyone's clothes that was involved (due to baby's squirming) and all over our washcloths. I would have just left the baby book page for footprints blank if I would have known that this was the alternative. Search further for the kind where no ink gets on the baby, or if you must do it--just buy an ink pad. This "kit" has no redeeming value whatsoever!
