Baby Products Reviews of Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes

Customer Review: Takes a beating, keeps baby occupied.
Summary: 5 Stars

We received this as a gift when I was pregnant. The button is very easy for the baby to push and hear new songs or when the song ends. Our newborn liked just listening to the music at first but now at 10 months he loves to push the button, listen to the songs and watch the light show. We put this with him in his crib now and if he wakes up, he'll press the button for music and go back to sleep. It's light weight, easy to clean, has an on and off switch as well as volume low and high. This has been dropped ALOT from high chairs, strollers, carseats and even while in our arms by our son but keeps on playing. Haven't had to replace the batteries yet and it's been played with nearly daily for 10 months. (as a side note, it also helped to keep baby distracted during those awful shot appointments in the early months). I would recommend this to any parent with an infant or as a suggestion for anyone who needs an idea for a gift to a new parent.

Customer Review: My sons really loves this!
Summary: 5 Stars

We saw this in another mother's hands while waiting for a Dr's appt as she gave it to her 7 month old and she recommended it highly. Thought it would be interesting and picked one up and my son really liked it and still likes it! He's finally big enough to "groove" to music and loves pushing the big colorful button. I think we've had this for five months now, replaced the batteries once, and it's still kicking along after all the hard falls on concrete and asphalt and light washings in the sink! (He generally likes to toss stuff out of his carseat when he's being put in and out of the car and this was one of the few things to keep him in his high chair and got baby food smeared on it repeatedly!) We have a HUGE one from another baby einstein product, too. The take along plays truncated songs, while the huge one plays pretty long ones. It's just long enough to keep my son happy and not so long to drive me nutty!

Customer Review: for music lovers!
Summary: 5 Stars

When my son's first birthday came up, I knew I wanted to get him a Baby Einstein Takealong Tunes because I had seen how much his cousin loved hers and because I wanted to expose my child to music at an early age. The music featured comes from some of the most well known composers ever. We call it his "radio"/"baby iPod" and it's one of his favorite toys. It's easy for him to turn on and off, easy to carry around, he loves the lights, and he loves to have the music playing in the background when he's playing with other toys. If your child is a bit rough or likes to randomly drop things repeatedly things, it's also VERY durable and has survived being slammed, thrown and stepped on. After four months, the batteries are still going strong which is good. Like other reviewers have said, the volume is not loud or annoying (for when you're in a public place like a doctor's office where it really comes in handy).

Customer Review: wonderful and easy for baby to use.
Summary: 5 Stars

We love this! I bought it for my daughter when she was 9 months old to attach to her car seat when we were driving from GA to MN. It has 2 volume settings which is great. She very easily learned to push the big button and after a while learned to push it several times to get back to her favorite song. The lights are LED and fairly bright but by no means too bright for a baby to look at. They flash from one to the other of 4 colors and the "screen" in front of them diffuses the light so it's not like looking directly into an LED bulb. We recently started giving it to our now 11 month old when we put her down for a nap or to bed. She pushes the button several times and watches the lights flash around the room and then goes to sleep with out making a peep. Obviously, you may have a child who is excited by the lights, but they really don't flash erratically and the songs are perfect for fun and/or relaxing.

Customer Review: #1 recommended toy
Summary: 5 Stars

If you are debating as to whether you should buy this toy or not, buy it!

Our neighbor's boy, who is 2 weeks old, follows this toy with his eyes but does not follow anything else.
This toy has interested our daughter more than any other toy in our stash, and its effects are incredible. Our daughter loved this toy since she was 6 weeks old (when we got it) until now, when she is 6 months old. When we want her to stop crying, we push the colored button, and the toy occupies her, as she stares at it enthralled. When we want her to crawl toward us (now that she's 6 months old and can crawl now), we put the toy next to us and play the music. The lights are not too bright, the volume is adjustable, and the classical music lasts longer than it does on other toys. (The music can be turned off, too.) If we could pick one toy for our daughter to have, this would be it.
