Customer Review: Overall a great toy
Summary: 5 Stars

My son has enjoyed this toy from the time he was 3 months old until now when he is 2 years old. The music is not annoying and the lights are good to keep the kids' attentions. The little colored "buttons" are not actually separate... just one big button. With each consecutive click of it you get the next song. My son quickly learned how to get to his favorite song.

He puts it to his ear sometimes and pretends it's a phone. That worries me a bit because of the level of the volume. Aside from that though I have no concerns about this toy.

After awhile the button seemed to get gummed up underneath. Maybe something spilled on it?? So now you have to push on it kind of hard to get it to play for the first time after it's been sitting awhile.

I can only remember changing the batteries once - which doesn't mean they didn't get changed more often - but it does mean it's not a battery hog :)

It's great to bring in the car because it's easy for them to hold in the car seat.

Customer Review: Surprising little toy
Summary: 5 Stars

I got this as a gift before my baby was born and thought- eh, maybe we'll use it sometime. I thought it looked so simple and uninteresting. Color me wrong. My daughter loves this thing. I couldn't have predicted how much she would like it. From a very early age, the music and lights would catch her attention and keep her from crying. She is now 9 months old, and still likes it very much.

I could always could on this toy to keep her happy. It would stop a crying fit almost every time. It took her a while to be able to hit the button on her own, but that is just a developmental issue. Note- originally I thought that the four different colors on the button were for four different songs. They are not. You just press the whole button and it cycles through the songs. Don't try to press the different sides of the circle- it doesn't work that way.

This toy seems so simple, but I think there is something about it that really appeals to infants. It is small and the music is pleasant. I highly recommend.

Customer Review: 20 month old STILL loves it, great investment!
Summary: 5 Stars

This music player was my grandson's favorite toy for several months and is still a regular in his daily rotation. Bought it when he was about 3-4 months old, was looking for something he could hold by himself to play with in the carseat or stroller and he absolutely loved it. The classical music sounds good, never gets annoying and the flashing colored lights draw their attention. At 20 months, he will still pick it up at least once a day and dance around to the music. The other thing I love is that he has listened to it so much that he recognizes the music when he hears the same tune on TV or elsewhere and bops his head or dances to it. Developing a love of classical music is always a good thing!

The player has held up very well too, it has been dropped numerous times and keeps on working! The only noticeable wear is on the button you push to play it, which is covered by a large sticker and the color is fading from being pressed thousands of times.

Customer Review: Neat Toy, Good Value!
Summary: 5 Stars

We discovered very early that our new baby boy liked music. So, we outfitted him with a variety of musical toys. Some were for the crib. Some were play stations. One was the small Baby Einstein Takealong Tunes device which we use primarily in his stroller.

He loves it. As we walk along he is constantly pushing the button and changing the tunes. Sometimes he'll do this for the entire 2- to 3-mile walk. Fortunately, the tunes are classical numbers, and very attractively done. A lot of baby tunes quickly give me audio fatigue, but I enjoy the selection of tunes on this toy. I should add that the little tike is still somewhat spastic and tosses the device out of the stroller from time to time. I wince as I hear it clunk onto the pavement, but it evidently is quite durable and we've had no problems with damage. Plus, it seems to be gentle with batteries. This is a great little musical toy, and it's very inexpensive. Good value!

Customer Review: Quite wonderful
Summary: 4 Stars

My baby grandson loves the four wonderful pieces of music on this toy, and he is fascinated by the flashing colored lights that go along with the sounds. He is now about 16 weeks old and has had this for about 8 weeks. I would certainly recommend this toy. Criticisms: (1) The speaker is on the back, so if the toy is put down on something, the sound is muffled, and, in any case, the sound is not as loud as it could be because it's projected backward. (2) The round button on the front is divided into four sections. At first I thought each section corresponded to a tune. That is not how it works. You have to push down quite firmly and hold for a couple of seconds on the center of the round button for the music to start. Right now my grandson is getting help enjoying this toy; he's obviously too young to hold it and push buttons, so I can't speak to how things will evolve. With help, Take Along Tunes is a wonderful way to bring music into a baby's life.
